Streetz VMA Ghetto Report: What Could Go Wrong Did Go Wrong!!

What can I say about this years MTV’S Video Music Awards that hasn’t already been said? They’ve missed the mark yet again, with no surprises, no high-octane antics, or edgy live moments that have made the MTV award shows from the past so unique.

In case you missed it last night here’s my report that I filed below. I warn you now – it aint pretty. Brace yourself!

I think its pretty safe that Britney Spears has been “speared” with the label of “has been”. Her highly anticipated MTV Video Music Awards performance “Gimmi More” was uninspiring, flat, and lazy. And someone needs to hire Brit a personal trainer because that belly needs some serious help.

Am I the only who doesn’t find Sarah Silverman funny? I just don’t get the humor she delivers.

Alicia Keys held her own pretty well during a slue of technical difficulties. That’s how a true professional does it. They roll with the punches and never miss a beat.

Monster Single of The Year Winner – Rihanna “Umbrella”

Jennifer Hudson needs to pick a hair and stick to it.

Quadruple Threat of The Year – Justin Timberlake (I was hoping for some on-air uneasiness between Justin and Robin Thicke. But coincidentally Justin accepted his award from a hotel suite somewhere in the casino).

I’m really over the 50 Cent/Kanye West marketing scheme. It’s like we get it already.

Most Earth Shattering Collaboration – Beyonce F. Shakira “Beautiful Liar” – OK why do they have the winners so far away from the damn stage? Everybody looks confused – they don’t know where to go. You got people trying to squeeze up under their tables to let people by. It’s just a mess.

Did anyone else catch the kiss Beyonce tried to give 50 Cent and he dissed her? She quietly mumbled “Oh, Ok”. P.S. That gold lamiae gown did NOTHING for you girl.

I can not hate on Chris Brown. That boy’s feet are like magic. He knows how to put on a good show. Usher ought to be NERVOUS as hell, because Chris, at this point, is his competitor for best male dancer. He even lip syncs better then U too. The surprise callabo with Rihanna was a classy touch. So far that’s the best performance of the evening.

Best Male Artist of The Year – Justin Timberlake – I’m going to need Timbaland to decide if he’s gonna be big or small. His constant weight change is starting to make my dizzy.

Female Aritist of The Year – Fergie (?)

O.K. was I the only one confused with the hotel suite performances versus the actual stage performances? All this back and fourth is just TOO MUCH. Kanye West performed but it doesn’t look like it was apart of the award ceremony. It’s like the filmed it the day before.

I’ve finally figured out how they get the celebrities to constantly attend these wack ass events. They give em an unlimited supply of free drinks. Nelly looked toasty as hell as he announced Alicia Keys.

Speaking of Alicia Keys…. I love the song “No One” but what was up with the outfit? It looked like a cross between Pocahontas and a Mighty Morphin Power Ranger. Not cute!!

Best New Artist – Gym Class Hero (Who?)

Miss South Carolina Teen USA, I’m convinced, is a true ditz. Only in America are you rewarded for being stupid.

I’m going to need Mary J. Blige to throw that damn blond wig in the furnace and fire her stylist. She’s getting way to old to be trying to rock the bullsh*t. Get it together Mary.

Dr. Dre is looking buff as hell, Damn! I never viewed him as an attractive man – but I might need to change my tune after seeing him in that muscle shirt.
