New Legends vs. Old Legends?

For months now the focus of all hip hop news, gossip, and street talk has been on the "comeback" of Nas and Hov. Everybody's been putting in their 2 cents about how they feel about the comebacks and how they think hip hop will change. Both of them have had their fair share of critics doubting their comeback abilities, but up until this point all respect was still given. Lil Wayne just told VH-1 that he's hands down better than Hov. And T.I. just told Ozone he don't give a shit about Nas because the South is runnin' Hip-Hop right now. Looks like the respect just got spit on.

What's really good with the newbies? Yes, Wayne and T.I. are considered virgins to the game in comparison to Esco and Hov. But they can definitely hold it down in the game with their skills. And slowly but surely, different artists have been spittin on Jay and Nas' skills and hustle. But now things are for real about to pop off. First Jimmy boy Jones was trying to have it with Hov. Now Lil Wayne has flat out said about Jay, "I'm better than him." Damn. Weezy just told Complex magazine that he's been respecting Hov's hustle, but he says he's better than him anyway you look at it:

"I'm better than him," Wayne said in the new issue of Complex magazine, which features the Cash Money Millionaire on the cover with Travis Barker. "I'm 24 years old. ... I'm 13 years deep with five albums and 10 million records sold."

And about Jay saying he's hip-hop's savior:

"I don't like what he's saying about how he had to come back because hip-hop's dead and we need him," Wayne said. "What the f--- do you mean? If anything it's reborn, so he's probably having a problem with that. You left on a good note, and all of the artists were saying, 'Yo, this is Jay's house. He's the best.' Now he comes back and still thinks it's his house. ... It's not your house anymore, and I'm better than you."
Oh really.

And then T.I. just told Ozone magazine in its upcoming January issue:

I know cats were going to ask me about the lil title thing and all, I dont think he was directing that at the south, It's just his opinion, he has a lot of clout, so I can respect his opinion, but as far as the music thing goes now, I dont care about Nas, I just do me, but if he is coming at the South, then he's making a huge mistake, we control hip hop right now, he'd lose a lot of respect from his fans out here, he's smarter than that, he should just play his position, keep making his Egyptian History rap while we make our money.

Is the respect gone when 2 of the top artists in the game try to yank the crowns of "old legends"? Or are Weezy and T.I. on point about Esco and Hov? Speak on it Fam.

Eminem has confirmed that his Detox solo abum will be released real soon. And he'll also be releasing another solo album late next year.
