Supposedly, in a statement released by Black Wall Street Records, Game has signed a phat ass deal with Geffen Records so that he will not have to release his new LP under G-Unit. This "official" statement sounds suspect to me, but here it is in part:
THE GAME WAS STILL CURRENTLY SIGNED TO G-UNIT/AFTERMATH - WHEN IT CAME DOWN TO HIM RELEASING HIS NEW ALBUM, GAME WASNT OBVIOUSLY GOING TO RELEASE IT ON G-UNIT - SO IN ORDER TO DO SO HE NEEDED TO SIGN A NEW CONTRACT - WHEN HIM AND JIMMY AND DRE STARTED TALKIN ABOUT CONTRACTS IT WAS SAID TO BE BEST IF GAME SIGNED A 5 ALBUM DEAL WITH GEFFEN FOR AN UNDISCLOSED [SUM]- AND IN RETURN GAME WOULD GET A DISTRIBUTION DEAL ESTIMATED AT $50MILLION FOR HIS RECORD COMPANY BLACK WALLSTREET, UNDER INTERSCOPE - THIS THEN PUTS B.W.S AT A WORLD WIDE RECOGNITION STATUS
50 mill?? Suspect at best. However, I wouldn't be surprised at Game trying his damndest not to release something on G-Unit/Aftermath even while he's under contract. And on Game's website, he lists Geffen Records in the place where Aftermath used to be. This is giving folks even more ammunition to believe Game has left Aftermath and is now kickin it hard with Geffen. Several sources are saying that Game finding a way to manuever out of his contract has been in the works for months -- and so has this deal with Geffen. But Black Wall Street getting world wide recognition status? Once again, suspect at best. Speak on it...
