ego trip's Miss Rap Supreme PREMIERE: "R-E-S-P-E ME!" (YES)

YES I meant to spell it like that!! If you watched the premiere episode of VH1's "Miss Rap Supreme", then you FULLY understand why.
I *KNEW* I was going to have fun watching and re-capping this show, and it did NOT disappoint.. at least, in the humor sense. Here's the beginning part of the episode when Yo-Yo and MC Serch are running through the "contestant debutantes" to see who will go on to actually compete in the series. Check it out:
Now, right away, I noticed a few things about the pre-contestants:
-- The two femcees I was feeling from jump were Chiba [MySpace] and Lady Twist [MySpace]. They just seemed to come sincere with theirs, especially Twist, who read to me like the chunky protege of Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony.
-- Secondly, I've SEEN Hedonis [MySpace] perform LIVE. Believe it or not, she opened up for the very fly Kween Ka$h at her album release party last week (who, coincidentally, I was on the phone with back and forth during this broadcast voicing our disdain over the show) and she performed a song called "Box of Bullets." Honestly, I do think she is a lil'... intense , but I do think they shoulda gave her a spot in the house to compete.
But let's get into it! If you didn't catch all of the names, the women who made it on to the competition (a/k/a Charm School -- The Rap Version) are:
Ms Cherry -- Nicky2States -- Byata -- D.A.B. -- Lady Twist -- Lionez -- Reece Skills -- Bre -- Chiba -- and yes.... Khia. Rejoice. All the ladies pop that thing like thissssss.
It only gets better, folks... Luckily, I'm able to take it as the entertainment that it's meant to be because if this was real femceeing... girls, we're in trouble.
So, as the ladies are chosen, they are whisked away to the Fembassy, which looks like it's a former shooting location for The Wire. When they get inside, they learn that there are sections of the house dubbed after female rappers, because, of course, they paved the way for many other ladies, so shouldn't they have respect paid to them? There's the "Foxy Brown Boudoir" (anger management room, maybe?), "Lil' Kim Quarters" (learn how to look fly while lying on the stand) and the "Garden of Eve", which I can only assume will serve as some sort of secret room for the imminent lezzy action that can and WILL go down on this show (as seen by that alcohol-fueled kiss shared between Byata [MySpace] and (I forgot the other chick... was it Chiba?) Yeah, man. It's going down, prison style. Time to clique up!
But I was left bewildered.... there's no "Remy Ma Corner"? Where are these chicks gonna learn how to pistol-whip a broad? That's like, a job requirement for a female rapper these days... come on, now!
Of course, as soon as Khia [MySpace] gets there, she starts showboatin' and sh*t, talking about, "I'm here because I sold records, I have hits." No, bitch, you here 'cause you needed a check! I think she really needs to calm the f-ck down. If there's anyone that should be humble at all, it should be her, because like five minutes before this episode aired she was virtually unseen. Am I right?
Apparently, Ms. Cherry also believed this to be true, because she made up a song about Khia being a "one-hit wonder", resulting in the Tattooed Bandit getting up in her face. Sigh.
At least these chicks have learned ONE thing from watching all of these reality shows: let the other chick hit YOU first! This is why this never actually comes to a physical climax.
Their first challenge is to break up into two teams, led by Ms. Cherry and Nicky2States (who, in my opinion, needs to keep her two legs together and stop having so many damn babies) to go and perform for some sisters. The first set of sisters they perform in front of are the sistagirls from a South Central hair salon (no, nobody saw Saaphyri). The second group had to perform in front of a group of sorors, who looked at them all like they were scared they were going to be the victims of a lesbian gang rape. And lastly, they had to perform in front of Sisters-- as in Mary Clarence, Mary Todd, and the others, too. This baffled the ladies because (out of respect, naturally) they had to come up with a rhyme without any profanity. Khia stepped up and actually spit an interesting 16 about her deceased mother, but personally I found her tears to be a bit forced for the camera.
Let me ask y'all a quick question-- what do y'all think about D.A.B., the recovering heroin addict? Do you think Nicky2Steps had a right to jump up in her face like that (due to their loss, the ladies were on opposing teams)? I think that everyone has their experience to go on and grow from, and her struggle is her struggle. I personally don't think she was trying to be "down", she was just telling her life as it is. Maybe Nicky's upset that no one wants to hear stories about her being the baby mama to four random dudes, and that D.A.B. actually has a positive message to relay. Who knows with females. We're over-emotional and extremely sporadic at times, right? ::rolls eyes::
Oooh, yes, I can't rap this up without talking about the elimination!!
So, the deal is is that the losing team has to go write a 16 about repping for the ladies in Hip-Hop, and obviously, whoever has the weakest rhyme will be sent home. What did y'all think?
Personally, I believe the measure of a dope (f)emcee is how well (and how long) he or she can spit without the use of profanity. That being said, Byata may have fumbled with the word game, but at least she proved she rather repeat some adjectives and nouns before resorting to vulgarity. She was the rapper who cursed the least, and that's why she held MY attention.
Plus, although Lionez' verse was namedropping OVERKILL ("take a lil' bit of Kim and a lil' bit of Eve, and a lil' bit of b-tch and that's a whole lotta me?!") I think I would have rather seen her stay as opposed to Khia. Okay, okay. Lionez can't pronounce English words very well-- but it's not her first language! Khia is so busy trying to get in another chick's a-s that she highlights the fact that she's dense! She can't even SPELL RESPECT! I guess you weren't R-E-A-D-A-B-O-O-KAAAAYIN' during your "lenghty hiatus" from the rap game. Not to mention, her entire "16-bar chorus" wasn't the topic she was supposed to be rhyming about. Ugh. She is SO unclassy.
But, of course, Khia is kept. And I'm willing to bet she will make it to at least the 3rd semi-finalist. Does anyone here watch "The Real Word/Road Rules Challeneges"? Khia is like the rap version of Coral-- always the oldest chick in the house without a REAL job, completely hell-bent on making chicks "RESPE her" that doesn't realize that she needs to step her game WAY UP.
Last few thoughts on the premiere:
Yo-Yo. Seriously, ma. Do you need a check that badly? Why are you degrading yourself by taking part in this program? I didn't know what to take of seeing her in the mirror looking like a ghetto Swami. To me, she doesn't even seem that enthusiastic about doing the show! Her and Serch's lines sound incredibly pre-written, and she always seems as if she's thinking, "F-ck these bytches, as soon as I stack from this show, I'm calling Lyte and Latifah to finally get that '40 and Fabulous' tour up and running! These chicks don't know sh*t!"
(Or maybe that was my subconscious telekinetically pleading with Ms. Yolanda. I'onno.)

I thought her name was Kee-yah but anyway anyway u pronounce Khia it is absolutely evident that not only was her rap career deaded when it began, she should have been kicked off that show last night. I know they kept her their out of empathy/sympathy because she HAD a record deal but she was horrific. And God bless her mom's memory but that awful un-lyrical tribute...A HOT DAMN MESS!!!
Between her and the other chick with a house of kids, "2 states", I can only imagine what their kids act like in the neighborhood & in school. They have no class and they can't speak in a sentence without using profanity.
Lastly, both kia and the 2 states chick seem really BITTER. I don't know if it's all the kids, no baby-daddies or bad bras but wow, them chicks need an Oprah intervention quick.

She knew that after having a hit a few years and being underground thereafter, she found a great way to market herself for more national attention whether you like it or not. Lil' Kim, Foxy Brown, Trina, Eve, Jacki-O, Diamond, Princess, Remy [oops, she's locked up now] should take note. All the females MCs are washed and nobody's really checking for them like we did a few years back. So, why not jump on a nationally-televised rap competition? It's a win-win situation for Khia because she does not need to win but she could use the free promotion.
I been waiting for this recap since the minute that show came on. Like Dana I thought Khia's name was pronounced Keeya. Anyway, girly has no skills whatsoever. She better stay on the winning team going forward since they spared her last night. I was most impressed by the lyrics of the girl that got eliminated. If they knew the accent was a problem they should have never picked her. My favorite is Chiba because she is a homie and she got skillz. Monmouth County Represent!!!

Only the girl that got eliminated rapped about what they told tehm to rap about. I hope they reiterate to the ladies that they must rap on topic. Otherwise they can spit something they wrote prior to the show. The white rapper show cats didn't even do that. I'm hoping some of the more manly chicks can tone it down a LOT. They are too rough for radio. As for Lady Twist she sounded so much like Twista that I wondered if she was spitting one of his rhymes. No offense to the obese, but I don't want to see her with a deal until she drops 100 pounds at which time she would still be fat.

The Challenge was to NOT spit anything pre-written..She shoulda went home just off that alone..They only kept her cuz sh'es more of a character on the show than the other chick..She can bring the "drama" to the show..Her rappin skills are trash..She's probably the wackest one there..I just wish them rest of them broads would lay off all the gun talk..They all look like extra's in Apache's Gangsta bitch video..I think i'm rootin for Chiba though

She DEFINITELY should've been sent packing. But that's political b-shit for ya. Like I said, I'm willing to bet MONEY that she'll make it at LEAST to the third semi-finalist.
