Blame today's Throwback on the fact that the market has become OVERFLOODED with R&C (rhythm and CRAP) that I had to take it back to when men were just singing about love-- and not f*cking up in some sweaty a-s club.

Haaaa, I knew I was taking y'all back today! Back to when people took effort to produce their music and didn't rely on producers who charge six figures to put together a beat that can be easily disseminated by white kids on YouTube (yeah, I'm taking a crack at HIM, and for Usher for agreeing to do that wack ass song)
The video is really simple (and the acting is dryer than the lead singer's Jheri Curl), but that what gives the song classic status because it allows the song to stand out.

Yea, i miss when R&B was something you listen too when you wanted to hear something different from hip-hop, now the shit is some hip-hop/Rap&Bullshit hybrid. I mean dayum can niggas just sing a fuckin love song w/o sounding tooo mushy/corny (Eric bonet) or ghetto (Dream) ? I miss the jodeci, new edition, Guy, Troop, Hi-five, Lo-Key, Teddy Pendergrass, al green, curtis Mayfield, Cameo, Keith Sweat , case, and D'angelo. I mean damn either a nigga is too gay or just too ghetto for me. Just a regular dude who can sing a good song. And the females have gone down as well. Now every chick is signing about dating thugs and bullshit. Them hoes have no class.What happen to the anita baker, chante moore, sade, Escape, SWV, En Vogue, 702. and Janet jackson. I mean some of these artist is still making music, but where are the new artist carrying the torch? Why can't niggas be man enough to make a love song w/o using too much slang? I mean niggas are singing rap lyrics and have no game. It's like they are making money offers for pussy in the song. Example:
Chris Brown: "I got papaer girl, a lamborgini, with the spider seats"....thats how you get pussy dawg?

Whoever re-captures this late 80's early 90's R&B sound is gonna do huge numbers. They need real song writers like Babyface(Who put in work on this track too). It's more challenging to write a song based on nothing but emotion(doesn't have to be love), Most of todays R&B is disposable and won't have any inpact or influence in years to come.
You still have to give credit where it's due artists like John Legend, Alicia Keys, and Anthony Hamilton are making timeless music.
