The Salt N' Pepa Show Ep. 7: Ain't Nuthin' But A Weave Thang!

Posted on December 4, 2007 3:07 PM

Ladies... would you take hair tips from Pep? I’m talking in terms of 2007– not 1987.
This video clip is cute, though.

Who caught this episode? Wasn't it something to see how knowledgeable Pepa was about the weave busines? It was like watching the Weavy Wonder version of Bill Nye the Science Guy. "

Damn, mama. Didn't know it was that serious.

I'm gonna make this re-cap short because there wasn't really too much going on (is this show starting to bore anyone?).

Basically, Pep wants to be an entrepeneur and branch out into endorsing a "Salt N Pepa" product. Yes, it is HER DREAM to have her face on a pack of Yakky or Hawaiian Silky human hair. However... that's against Sister Cheryl's religion.

So what does Pep do? Makes her step to the bad side, like any other best friend would do!

She convinces her to get a weave of her very own (I thought she wore one already?!). But this one's exclusive-- this is a double stick weave that tapes on to your own scalp from Pep's secret room at "Cassandra's" salon. Think it's time for 'Quita and 'em to get an upgrade?

Well, if you saw how it came out... then you definitely would've gotten the "Cowardly Lion" image I alluded to last week. I know I wasn't feeling it-- personally I like Salt's hair the way it was. And she did too, because after a week, she was trying to take it out. Ehhh.

I'm going to end this with this statement: I think Pep should leave the entrepeneur biz to the professionals and embark on a career in motivational speaker. Homegirl made a personal call to Salt's house "to check on the weave", lying to her face and made her believe it was gawwwgeous! “You look good girl! You was feeling it! You working it, baby!" Of course, she had her ulterior motives (getting Salt to ink the endorsement deal so she could pay off that Theatre District apartment) but sh*t... she might be able to talk suicide potentials off of ledge!

NEXT WEEK: They didn't give a preview, so beats me. Check it anyway.

Wait-- I'm not done yet!
Remember last week I blogged about attending the VH1 Soulstage event with Wyclef Jean? It airs TONIGHT on VH1 Soul, so go check and let me know if you see me (I was wearing a brown top and a long heart pendant). Holla @ ya girl!

WHO LOVES YA, BABY?
