Friday Wrap Up: The Wire S5 Trailer, Wyclef Sees "Heaven In The Headlights"

Wassup y'all! Sorry today's post is a lil' late, but you know how it is. It's the holiday season! Gotta get my all my eggnog n' Southern Comfort parties in! Holla!
Today I have a very special announcement to make. All of you The Wire enthusiasts take note: the official Season 5 starts January 6th! Check out the trailer below.
I think that one of my New Year's Resolutions will be to include weekly re-caps of the show. What do y'all think?
I know prior to the release of this video, I posted a link to the audio for this track. I've overstated the fact that I am a Wyclef Jean fan-- we don't need to go there. But for those of you who didn't check for the song, check for the video to "Fast Car". This song is so haunting, so eerily striking as it recounts unnecessary deaths related to the Black community (it's bigger than hip-hop because the Sean Bell shooting is referenced).
On top of that... I just don't feel like blogging a bullsh*t video from a bullsh*t artist today. And THIS is defiitely not bullsh-t.
If the lyric about "seeing heaven in the headlights" doesn't yank at your heart strings... then maybe the photo montage of Kanye West, Biggie and Tupac, Left Eye, as well as Sean Bell's memorial will bring it on home.

Wylcef is def a great MC! That video is very insightful and pays homeage to a lot of people that got their ticket to the moon! Very good look for Clef!
The Wire is one of the greatest shows of all time and if you can find the time to recap some other shows, that should remain nameless(Gotti's Way, Salt n Pepa ) that are not really worth anyone's time. I am sure you should have time to recap the final season of The Wire !!!!!!!!!

I love the new Wyclef cd and Fast Car is probably my favorite song on there. Heavens in new york is another really good one.

I know it might be hard to do a recap of a full length show, but if you can create some kind of Wire Season 5 recap forum, we will definitely certify you as the best blog on the internets....check out my opinion about the last season of the Wire at the link below. I know the Wire changes themes every season but I really enjoyed last season the most. I didn't think I would be interested in the lives of the children but it was the best season yet. I hope the 5th season does the same but they seem to be going in a different direction. I don’t know about this season being based around the media. seems a little boring
