Monday Mayhem: Rich Boys Gets Serious While Getting His "Paper", Fergie Gets a Lil' "Clumsy"

Wassup, mi familia! Let’s wake those a$$es up and start our week off, right, aight? Time to make that paper!
Speaking of which, we’re gonna start out today’s first video with Rich Boy’s “Let’s Get This Paper”.
Is it me, or does Rich look like he’s getting punched in the grill every day? I mean, you got another reason as to why it seems that he can’t close his lips?
This is one of those things where the song actually generates more feedback than the video, so that’s what I’m going to talk about.
You know after every up-and-coming rapper releases his “Flashy and Fly N*gga” joint, then his “Tryna Tap Dat Azz” joint, then his “I Reads And Watches CNN While Smoking a Fat One!” joint is soon to follow. That is, if he has the right marketing team behind him. Apparently, this Bama boy does.
But... he took it a step further, thus making this his “I’m - a serious - person - with - real - feelings - and - real - emotions - and - sh*t - and - I’ma - put - it - out - there - for - y’all - to - feel - me” type track. I’m sorry... I just can’t get past the fact that this is the same dude that told us to throw some d’s on that bytch... I mean... come the fawwwg on, now... let's be real. I can't make it rain and be righteous at the same time.
I’m not going to lie to you guys. I actually DO have Rich Boy’s album, and he does have some songs on the album that are supposed to plant seeds of thought into a listener’s head. And it's not like I'm not feeling the track. However, it’s REALLY hard for me to take him seriously when the next track I hear from you is probably gonna be “Balla Life” or something similar. Who do you want to be, Rich? Make up your mind! But... if I can overlook Kanye (who, let’s keep it 101%, is guilty of the same thing, albeit not as blatantly as Rich Boy) and still pump his sh*t on a daily basis, I can at least throw this up on the blog.
The video is supposed to be dark, deep, and reflective... just how he meant the song to be. Hence, the inclusion of the headstones at the “graveyard”. And oooohhh, he even got “political” and spit a few about our soldiers in Iraq... impressive! And there’s a church scene! Wow! (PLEASE NOTE MY SARCASM). I’m kinda feelin’ this, although Rich’s voice makes my ears itch. More than anything, I’m feeling the line that went something like, “I got a million dollars and I’m still broke” , because having a million dollars in the bank only makes you semi-paid... not wealthy. Mad props for letting these starry-eyed snappers out here know what’s really good. But that’s just my opinion.
Lord, forgive him for that crack sellin’... and for those ugly @$$ fronts... He not know what he do.

Whaaaaat? Don’t hate! You can’t hate on girlfriend’s staying power– The Dutchess came out over a year ago and it’s STILL riding high on the charts. Now, I’m not saying she’s the best singer/rapper/dancer/(fill in blank) in the world, but I do find her entertaining. Plus, that CD kept me in the gym all last winter, working on my fitness (I couldn’t resist, and I’m not sorry! What, you wanna make something of it?!.)
I had to throw this video up here! Sheeeyyyit, Eve AND Mary J. got pushed back, Keyshia’s label ain’t puttin' up the money for the voice lessons... it’s really not looking good for females in entertainment right now... so I had to go over to the melanin-deprived side.
Apparently, I went over to the sanity-deprived side, too. Damn, Fergie Ferg, I know you were smoking that meth pretty hard, back in the... uhhh... yesterday, but is this what the real world looks like inside of your mind? If so, you need to hop your booty across the pond & check into the same program as Amy Winehouse , stat!

Clumsy doesn't even begin to describe this vid, Ferg. Which is a shame, because this song is one of my faves from the album. I’ve been bitten by lovebug a time or two myself, but it never caused me to do hydraulics in my car or play out delusions of a cyber-alterna-universe in my head. These dudes be getting you bodied, girl! Can’t let ‘em see ya slippin’ like that, ma... they will take ADVANTAGE!

No one would've paid attention to Rich Boy if he dropped that as his first single. So if that's the formula of dropping videos, then I say do that. Rich Boy had a solid album period. I admit I was suprised. The beats where hot and the content was good. He coulda put out a few songs as singles. "Lets Get This Paper" is nearly the best song on the album along side "And I love You"........haters. Throw Some D's ones the weakest on the album and Rich Boy claims the label pushed for that type of song. Said he'd rather done an entire album of "Lets Get This Paper" type songs.
That Ja-Rule and Ashanti interpolation of Grease was the 2nd best video in the creation of urban visuals, you can't be serious.......

I'm from up North and I never understood the whole "Southern rappers are trash" theory. That's exactly what the beast wants you to do...divide and conquer us. Half of the rappers up North are either borrowing the South's style or mad that they can't bring NY back so they hate.
For the record, I don't like most of this flashy, pour champagne on some bitches attitude, but I loved Throw Some D's. It was clever, groovy and the clubs loved it. And I can appreciate Let's Get this paper. Why must a rapper remain in a box for you? If he made another Throw Some D's, you would complain about him being one-dimensional. Stop the hate and listen to the song. It was real and heart felt and I think that it takes balls to speak about things that these other rappers are too afraid to say because the Nabiscos in the record companies only want stereotypes or they're worried about dumb as*es like you criticizing them. Rich Boy, you officially have my respect and my money. Going to go out and buy that album ASAP just for the haters. Breezy, or whatever your name is, take your money and buy a a clue, hater.
