Monday Morning Mayhem: Beluga Whales, Pop Tarts and Boom Kat Kats, Oh My!

Posted on July 23, 2007 9:00 AM

Y'all are getting bombarded today.

Okay, so here's what's on the MAYHEM radar today:

So, if y'all have noticed, I'm not a fan of the Beluga Whale that jacks f*ckin' Fab and Ne-Yo beat and destroyed it with one of the wackest "for my n*ggas" type songs in the fakest- accent ever. Which is why I purposely decided to ignore "Beautiful Girls".
BUT DID YOU KNOW....

HE RIPPED OFF A POP TART to make that punk- @$$ song? Y'all know who JoJo is, that little white girl with the "wannabe black" attitude. SHE CAME OUT WITH HER VERSION FIRST!
(NOTE: This isn't an actual video for the song, but click it to listen to the track.)

Check out his video, and compare it to Kingston's, see which one you like better.

If you prefer JoJo, it's okay, just be gangsta about it. You'd be harder than Kingston. "It was '99 when I went away for my first crime?" N*gga you was 9 years old! WHAT THE HELL YOU'D GET LOCKED UP FOR, smacking a dude at Dunkin' Donuts for buying the last Boston Creme?!

Good Things
Rich Boy released the video for "Good Things" featuring Keri Hilson and Polow Da Don. Not a bad song, not a bad video, but I'm not feeling the fully-clothed on the beach thing. Nor am I feeling Keri's lil' dialogue towards the end of the song. But check it for yourselves.

RIHANNA ACTUALLY MAKES A VIDEO

Did you catch that credit? DIRECTED BY RIHANNA. I say, to hell wit that. She played it safe, the video has what, three scenes? Rihanna gets out a taxi-- Rihanna eye-f*cks herself in the mirror-- Rihanna drops it on the dance floor. OOOHH! At least when Beyonce co-directed "Upgrade U", it was... well, creative.

Don't Worry... The Moment Is Soon Coming...

I have to put up the preview of tonight's Making The Band episode. But if I were you, I wouldn't miss anyway--- it's the one where the funk hits the fan, and Puff breaks his foot off in that kat kat. I found a lil' more behind-the-scenes dirt about the sitch that's gonna have to wait 'til tomorrow. In the meantime... 10pm, EST!

  • I heard the Mike B. interview a few dayz ago on mediatakeout. He sounds like he is real . Lorie Ann does seem like the type of broad that would start to act up as soon as cameras start filming. From the way that he was talking I think that she gets cut off because Diddy was mad at the fact that she did not do what she was told to do.

  • clearly JR Rotem produced that joint (he's in the video), and sold it to two people or it didn't make the jojo album...it was obviously written for the beat by someone other than fat boy or jojo..so the lyrics just went where the beat went, this happens all the time..

  • BREEZY,
You need to get yo info right before you post about who steals who's shit. JoJo was a response, and she is a fan of the other song. Fuck, you should not have a job reporting to the public if you are not going to tell the truth. People get hurt over that.

  • Clear Channel Radio Stations are advertising JoJo's version as a response to Sean Kingstons song. Yet you say JoJo's was first? Which is correct? Uhm... Sorry but bloggers lose out to Radio Station conglomerates. Your credibility goes in the toilet.

Her myspace clearly states that her Beautiful Girls song is a reply to the original. Somebody gimme a job blogging. That took a total of two seconds worth of research.
