Making The Band 4.3: Diddy's Not In Luv With a Stripper!

Last week, I couldn't even bring myself to blog about Making The Band because it was so f*cking ridiculous, I felt like my brain cells were dying.
This week's episode, however, was different. No, Laurie Ann didn't get the boom kat kat smacked outta her (unfortunately) but we did get to see someone else get verbally checked: Robert. But it was so stupid though, because this chick he's seeing gets all defensive when he brings up her partying, and then towards the end tries to pull some ish like she's "counting the days until [she] sees [him] again." Maybe I'm overly cynical, but I'm not buying this sh*t man. But what does it matter? The way you flipped your limp wrists when stating how long you guys have been together makes me think that just maybe, you're not that in to her as you'd like us viewers to believe, wink, wink. And why you keep calling her "dawg" for? Do you use that term of endearment so you won't slip the names of your girlfriend and your boyfriend? Yeah, they're all your dawgs! I'm on to you!
Da Band couldn't walk from Manhattan to Brooklyn in a nice, midnight summer's breeze. The MTB3 chicks practically collasped after jogging around the Central Park reservoir. What does P. Sh*tty do to up the ante this year? Mix both of the two tasks (sort of) and see if the MTB4 guys can hack it!
And guess what? THEY COME THROUGH LIKE SOLDIERS! DIDDY: Take that, take that, take that!!
For starters, P. Sh*tty wakes the guys out of their sleep at 2 am one morning to let them know that they're getting the royal Chopper/Dylan special: shielded behind a seemingly faux cause to "raise money for the homeless" (read: He's so f*cking lazy he can't even dial up Fonzy's number to pick up his sweet quick-fix) he tells the twenty guys that he wants to "introduce them to the New York City which he loves so much." He wants them to go to several spots in all of the five boroughs to sing a cappella, in the cold, to promote their showcase at B.B. King's Restaurant. Here's the catch: they have to WALK to every locale, including from Yankee stadium all the way across the George Washington Bridge. Oh and yeah, on the way, they must pick Papa D up some Strawberry Cheecake from Juniors-- in Brooklyn.
Sigh. I know, I know-- when Da Band didn't want to come through with this demand I thought of them as ungrateful f*cks. But come on now-- that was 2003. It's 2007, Sh*tty, they done built a f*ckin' Juniors in Times Square, TWO BLOCKS FROM FUTHAMUCKIN' B.B. Kings since then! Did they really have to go to BK?
Yet, the guys comply, which I commend them for. But I couldn't help thinking, "Damn, that one dude (I forgot his name-- oh well) is a lil' too hyped to be getting Diddy some cheesecake. I hope you don't drop it like Sara did!" It doesn't happen though. These guys go and try to sing as well as they can in freezing temperatures. What's funny is the clip they showed with Big Mike talking about he felt like he was going to die because of the cold. Riiight, because walking in frigid air will do you in WAY faster then gobbling up three fatty grilled cheeses a day, bruh. Someone needs to consult their food pyramid (yes, I'm still pissed over last week's f*ckery).
Speaking of f*ckery, I'm going to not even comment on the Anzeo/Brian egg fight, except to say that is the kind of fight I expected Mike and Diddy to actually get into. It was REALLY petty and b*tchy (WHO THE HELL ARGUES OVER EGGS?!), and for that, they've been awarded this week's GAYEST MOMENT OF THE SHOW. You can't deny it.
So, on to the breakdown of the showcases:
37th Ave (Shai, "If I Ever Fall In Love") -- Impressive. Especially that fine @$$ white boy Donnie. You've redeemed yourself for proudly announcing that you performed "Mo Money, Mo Problems" in a talent show. LOVE BIG, DESPISE THIS SONG, HATE THE VIDEO!!!!! (I digress...)
Campus Block (Boys II Men, "On Bended Knee") -- They get a credit in my book for owning up to the fact that their voices were weakened from their challenge and switching their vocals. It didn't sound as great as it could've been (this is not the song you can just simply get by with mediocre vocals) but could you imagine what they would've sounded like had they remained in denial? Just imagine Michael Jackson screaming while taking a dump-- or listen to Chris Brown singing "Umbrella/Cinderella".
Face (112, "Peaches & Cream") -- Maurice probably felt desperate. He probably knew that his group wasn't cutting it so he had to show some skin to get the girls to holla. However, he learns the hard way that stripping will get you nowhere (he was cut later on). For that, he's awarded the ASSHOLE OF THE EPISODE stamp. But I'm pretty sure if he offered his services to Diddy on the low, he could've made out with a nice lil' severance check!
Switch (N*Sync, "Gone") -- Trying hard not to laugh at the group's name being said out loud, I focused on the fact that this is the ONLY N*Sync song thats allowed on my MP3 because it's so damn hot. These dudes definitely did this song justice and did it almost better than Justin.
Legit (Boys II Men, "It's So Hard To Say Goodbye") MICHAEL! After watching this I just have one thing to say: STOP F*CKING AROUND, PUT DOWN THE CRISCO OIL AND FRYING PAN AND GET IT, SHAWTY! I'm feeling a Saaphyri moment-- if Mike can grow up and take himself a bit more seriously, he's got a spot in the group, no doubt. But it's all up to him though.
That was basically the gist of it, y'all. Four heads got cut-- and next week, there's going to be more dudes in the building. Judging from the previews, there are definitely going to be more b*tchfights in the works. Someone call Jason from MTB3 to mediate.
