I saw a couple of interesting suggestions yesterday. However, none of them prompted a sense of urgency as this one has. Much like most black professional athletes, San Antonio Spurs point guard and Longoria-to-be, Tony Parker has been bitten by the rappin' bug. Also much like aforementioned counterparts Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal and Allen Iverson, his shit is less than stellar. Fabolous and frenchie du jour, Booba, lend their mercenary services to the Pepe Le Pew-scented doo-doo fest that is the "Top of the Game" [watch above] video.

I guess it's hard at the top.

The video plays out like an NBA Cares commercial gone terribly wrong. Those poor children. They had no idea Tony was going to try to rap to them when he walked up on the court with shorts and a five-man squad. Don't think kids won't play your wack ass! I seen Smilez and Southstar get booed out of a public elementary school with my own eyes. Lil niggas know what's up.

Actually, this video is more like a long, painful Tony Parker/Reebok commercial.

Unfortunately, I can dig Iverson spittin in his commercial. Tony Pizzle sounds like the winner of The [French] Rapper Show, hosted by CHG The Unfadeable Negro. Persia will still eat your croissant.

The police love at the end was a little disheartening too. I watched Tim Duncan's face as one-time pulled up. He had that "Awwww shit! This why I don't be out in public with niggas" look on. Tony over here smiling and giving the thumbs up to po-po. Tim should have faked the autograph and put the Wayne Brady neck snap on a constable.

  • This is a disgrace to french rap...emcee solaar should kick his ass for this one..he just set back french rap ten more years with this one. Just cause jimmy yelled "Ballin'" on last years hit song doesn't mean it was a casting call for bug-a-boo point guards.

    I learned french just off the strength of translating emcee solaar material..trust me this cat parker ain't worthy of even listening to!!

  • Ironically enough, France buys the most amount of hip-hop behind the U.S. (who'a number one). They LOVE hip-hop over there and adore the stuff, to the point where the American folk like 50 and the rest of them always stop in Paris on the their international tours. And there flow there is pretty tight too, especially a lot of the remixes. But word to whoever said it first -- Tony just set back French rhymes 10 years with that whack-ass flow. Just...no...step away from the goddamn mike, man.

  • I just want to say several things on this rewiew, first of all the stuff that alot of people posted on this page is complete joke,if you listen to Parker's CD some tracks like Bienvenue dans le Texas or few other have good flow and beats are too good butrap is meant for real artists, 1 thing is true that Tony Parker should stick to basketball rather then rap, but the rest is a different story..French rap has been around for ages, there is alot of increadble talent and alot of people dont know nuthing about it or the International scene because they are ignorant and uneducated, when they hear an American rap song they think this is it the rap started in Bronx it ends here, French rap has been developing in places like Paris since 1980s as well. If many people weren't so narrow minded ,theyd know exactly what has been going on for years all over the world..Get this straight-French rap producers make the best Rap Instrumentals in the world, France won the beat making compettition in Tokyo Japan recently, and the hip hop as well as rap scene is going up year by year in France.. As regards to the people that just know music that they see on regular cable television please dont even post up anything, unless you hear and see more about an International Rap scene on Satellite television or getting your plane tickets and going to France and checking out the club and rap scene there.
