Beyonce and Shakira team up for 2007 Boner Jam of the Year Candidate, "Beautiful Liar." [watch above] For the sake of maintaining the guise of professionalism, I watched this video (on mute) with an icepack in my lap and a picture of my dead grandmother on my desk.

Personally, I like the video. I don't see how Beyonce` is "trying to look Latina". Yes, Her and Shakira look alike, does that mean that Shakira is trying to be Black? NO. They just resemble each other. The whole skin lighting thing is quite dumb. Beyonce has always been light. Maybe she didn't use a bronzer or get a tan. I know during the winter/fall seasons, I'm lighter than the summer/spring seasons, I know ALOT of Black people like that, maybe that applies in her case.

I like the song and it´s true that they both look alike - here one can only blame nature.
Fact is, latin american ways of dancing ( from Argentina way up north to Colombia ) and music have a whole lot of african influence just like african american dancing and music.
Shakira dances afro latin way of dancing mixed with arabian dancing - and even the arabian way of dancing origionated in Morocco Africa.
There´s no coping here, they´re just two very similar cultures with similar backgrounds in one music video.
Besides blacks come in different shades from black, dark chocolate brown, caramel brown, light brown, yellow brown and olive.
Beyonce ranges from caramel to yellow brown simple.
There´re many blacks with lighter skin, natural soft waist long hair, light brown eyes, small narrow caucasoid noses, black to light brown hair and soft feauters even in africa like eritreans, ethiopians, somalis, nubians, barawa seychelloise etc.......Beyonce is similar to them. Plus if we talk about skin bleaching, we should also talk about skin tanning which´s also very harmful.
