Junior - "Mama Used To Say" video

Now is indeed the time for you youngsters to strive. In 1982 this meant reaching 21 without getting shanked and avoiding that new AIDS shit. This week's throwback is a personal favorite of mine. Junior's classic "Mama Used To Say" [watch above] still makes me dance in my socks. That's right. I will take off my shoes and do that fuckin El DeBarge slide all over the room.
Loosely translated, my mama used to say... "Dinho, go get that damn switch." and "I'mma whip your ass. You think you're so damn funny." Ah, I love that bitch.
With the quiet elegance of Eddie Murphy in "Bowfinger," Junior does an excellent job of personifying a geeky black dude from the 70s. In typical "What's Happenin' [Now]" fashion he navigates his way through a pretty fuckin excellent video for 1982. Can't even front.
Much like we were able to do with Jeffrey Daniel of Shalamar, below is Junior's "Top of the Pops" performance of "Mama Used To Say."
