Diddy feat. Christina Aguilera - "Tell Me" video

Posted on November 28, 2006 11:02 AM

I guess Puffy ain’t wanna entrust this one to Danity Kane.

As per request, today’s selection is Papa Diddy Pop’s “Tell Me” [watch above] featuring Ambiguously Latina Christina [Aguilera]. Damn. Long gone are the days when watching Shiny Suit Man at hard at work was actually fun.

Wow, such a grandiose intro for such a doo doo record. If I had such an expensive, space-age CD player that looks like it can stand on its hind legs and beat your kids as well, I wouldn’t be puttin no bullshit in it. Thing look like that ED-209 shit from Robocop.

That’s what we need! Niggas need machinery that will fuck you up if you play some bullshit.

The lyrics to this song make absolutely no sense. I guess that’s something it has in common with its video. At first I thought he was, like most black men, in a ridiculous maze in which the prize in the middle is a white bitch. Now I don’t know what the fuck to make of what I just saw.

Christina can blow, yes, but this is like metamorphosis #5 for homegirl. She looking like Brooke Hogan now and it's starting to scare me a bit. At least her Moonlight Bunnyranch ho tryout phase is over. I’ll take “Trynna Be Classy” Christina over “Syphilis in the Men’s Room with Redman Christina.

Puffy, tell me why the most recognizable chocolate face in the rap game can’t go gold? To fan the fire even more, the Shark Award winner continues his assault on originality by jacking the old Maxell tape commercials for his video background.

There is a shitload of walking in this video. Where the fuck is he going? Fuck it, man. Just dance, you Bojangly coon bucket! I ain’t gonna knock it no more. You need to get back into your element. Find that classic groove, my friend!

PuffMase.gif

Remember that?

I can’t even call it no more, Puff. We got Paris Hilton droppin records and shit, yet Puff Daddy can’t convert his massive celebrity (if nothing else) into some sales. Hmm, maybe people DO care if your shit is horrible again. Maybe I’m making some headway with the younger demographic.

Nahhhhhh.

  • Black Leaders Seek End to Use of Slur

Mon Nov 27, 5:37 PM ET

Black leaders on Monday challenged the entertainment industry, including rappers, to stop use of the racial slur that Michael Richards uttered in his tirade.

The Rev. Jesse Jackson and others said they will meet with TV networks, film companies and musicians to discuss the "n-word."

"We want to give our ancestors a present," Jackson said at a news conference. "Dignity over degradation."

Jackson also asked the public not to buy a DVD box set of the seventh season of the TV show "Seinfeld" that was released last week.

Richards, who played the wacky neighbor Kramer on "Seinfeld," triggered outrage with a Nov. 17 racial rant against two black men when he was heckled during a stand-up comedy routine at the Laugh Factory nightclub in West Hollywood. A patron recorded the outburst with a video camera phone.

Richards has made several apologies, including one Sunday on Jackson's syndicated radio program, in which he has said he is not a racist and was motivated by anger.

At the press conference, comedian Paul Mooney said he has used the "n-word" numerous times during stand-up performances but will no longer do so after watching Richards' rant.

"He's my Dr. Phil," the black comedian said. "He's cured me."

Asked about free-speech issues, Jackson said the word is "unprotected."

U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., charged that only situations such as the Richards incident turn mainstream media attention to issues involving the black community.

"This is not simply about whether or not the black community forgives or forgets, this is about understanding that this is pervasive, that this happens in all of our institutions, one way or the other," Waters said.

  • p.s. If it's not about the word then why does the word itself have so much power? When Kramer was calling us "niggers" last week, were you saying then that it's not about the word? It's a word with a lot of blood and power behind it and if there is a serious movement to stop it, there is no reason that anyone, let alone a black man, shouldn't be behind it, if nothing else then out of respect for the people that DIED so we wouldn't have to be called it anymore. Use your damn head.......

  • What I mean by "it ain't about the word" is that the power of the mere collection of letters comes from the intention behind their use. We eradicate the almighty n-word, there will be another in its place to serve the exact same ugly purpose. Please believe that.

Drew/PZ, I'm not saying I don't have a price, I think every man has a price. However, I think you misunderstand the reason for our continual dissent here. It is important for our generation to take what's handed to them by mass media with a grain of salt. View it all with a critical eye. I do this divine work of hate indiscriminantly. ANYONE can get it. That's the beauty of it. You don't know what I do or don't like on the day to day because it's irrelevant to the purpose. Agree, disagree, like the joke, not like the joke, this blog is about getting folks to unplug from MTV and The Negro Channel and think a little bit.

I even have underhanded greasy things to say about my current employers on the blog from time to time. I know you pay attention. So no, it's not the same mentality as the "artists" we clown on the daily. Nor would I flock to Puffy's dick for a check. Trust, I've already been made some similar offers but I'm not gonna make a forward move that comprimises the integrity of what we do.

You're a smart dude who wants to do good. I truly commend that. But be careful not to let your agenda cloud your vision, homeboy.

That goes for anything. Nothing has any meaning besides the meaning we ascribe to it. You could rationalize ANY type of behavior with that argument, but that does not make the history of the **particular** word "nigger" any less violent or demeaning to black people.

Bruh...first off I want you to know I'm encouraged to see that you payin attention and respect where I'm comin from, and I've said it before....it is not you that I "don't respect"...it's the work you do on this blog.

You seen that movie "Benchwarmers"...bout the dude that tries to do all that right to the retarded kids because he used to pick on the retarded kid? Man...that's me dog. And the wild part about it all is, I got a six year old that is undoubtedly gonna catch wreck in school because he's small, and wears glasses. I got a son that's three who is being tested for autism right now. I got two interacial children (white black) a step son who is interracial (white, black, mexican and thai) and my youngest daughter is my oldest daughters sister AND cousin (yeah man...think on that one).

In school I was the kid that punched the kid with glasses. I was the kid that spit in the coke can and set it down so I could watch the retarded kid pick it up and drink it. I was the one that would roll the pennies down the hall and watch the retarded kids chase them. Man, we picked on this dude so hard man...he blew his own brains out homey. And yeah, these are my issues...and issues that I deal with and came up in, and undoubtedly my children will be subject to and ridiculed because.

So what do I do? Do I teach my kids to beatup kids that pick on them?? To be hateful and hateful in return to people that pick on them?

Man...my whole point on this blog and gettin at you about what you doin, is because although what you sayin is funny...and the targets could probably give two terds about what you are saying...it's the people that come on here and read this stuff that are gonna suffer. Now, true..alot are grown...but alot are not. With hip hop being the biggest influence on the culture, and SOHH being one of the biggest hip hop sites on the planet....you ain't doin the hip hop...or the culture any good with what you do on here. You even got a dictionary posted up of made up words to get slick on somebody. So now...not only is my kids "oreo's" and "half breeds"...the kids got new words to play with. And oh yeah, my autistic son....is he a "touch down", or just a straight out "retard". Thanks to Ron Mexico...now they got a choice.

My point homey is that the lil bit of contribution you are putting forth toward the culture you love so much, is part of what is also serving to bring it down. It's the "spirit" of what you do which sucks camel nuts. I could quote scripture, but I wanna just have the man to man on the grown folk level homey. I couldn't imagine you sittin at home with ya kids in your lap jivin on everyone on the TV, I wouldn't think you'd want that goin on. And then ok, if you dont' want it goin on in front of your kids....then why somebody elses?? Or hold up...if not in front of children in general...then why at all?? Period?

I figured out...the reason why I was like I was back in the day is because I was tryin to make up for something I was lackin. I was a little dude, but would run up and slap the fire out of anybody. Because I felt I needed to..but homey, I don' feel like that no more. The outward flow of words, actions, and thoughts reflect whats on the inside homey. That's why I be askin you how you feel when you leave work? I mean...do you like your job? We can talk about this and that and you mentioned the blog is to get people to think? About what? The next slick thing to say?? Is that what our thoughts need to be focused on? That's my point...do they contribute anything to anything? And if not....why speak them? Because they are funny? Because they are on our mind? I disagree with a "yes" answer.

Honestly bro, I just wish I got started on this good work I'm tryin to do..alot sooner. I'm still tryin to find alot of the folks I wronged in the day. I think it's only right to try and apologize. Man, I got so many memories...and I was wilin out..tru, and they was funny at the time..true, but some of them same cats that was lookin up to me at that time...they still doin that same stuff and are NOWHERE. We got a responsibility past ourselves, and had everyone taken a stand and accepted responsibility with what was going on in Hip Hop...it wouldn't be where it is.

What you say..and what you type...you can't take that back homey. Make it mean something, instead of having folks on here saying "yo Ron...do this video next" just to hear you talk about folks, try and have them thinkin and speakin life homey. And I ain't even referring to scripture homey, I'm talkin in general.

But you know what...truth be told, THEY WILL NOT WANT TO HEAR IT...because they have been programmed otherwise. So do we play into what was created, or do we work to change it? Homey, anywhere you go or anything you do starts off with "one step". And when you step, you are always going in a direction...the question is "which step do you take". They all end up somewhere, but if we think about where we wanna go, and then start stepping accordingly...then we will eventually get there. Anything that is ever worth anything requires SOMEBODY to lead, if everybody is following....where ya gonna go? Too many people wanna follow, and not enough people in positions to lead wanna lead because the direction they know needs to be taken is the unpopular one. Too much focus on self...that's the problem with not just hip hop but the WORLD. Homey, I'm tryin to calculate every step I take to be one in the right direction.

Now..with all that said Ron...just know it's all love homey. I respect you, and I appreciate you readin up on what I've had to say. It's obvious from your replies directly to me, and the tone of them...that you're a respectable dude and you know what's right homey. I'm just sayin...act on it.

Now to the bloggers...ya'll receive what I'm sayin. Ron..just watch how many nonsense replies my post is gonna get. Just watch the responses of some of these people and as you are shakin yo head at these folks..just ask yourself..."what is really goin on".

My agenda is to spread love, and get everybody to rock with the vision of the great Martin Luther King. One of the greatest men in history...just know that his vision stemmed from his agenda. His agenda was to spread the love of Christ, and to see Christ's truth of "all men are equal" to be brought to life by ending racism. True, his love for his race was a strong driving point and one that steadily fueled his passion, but it was ultimately His desire to please Jesus Christ which produced the fruits of the Civil Rights movement. It was the fruit of love..that's what it was.

Now...holla at your people Ron and let them know Drew got somethin to say.

    Christ Bless homey!
    PZ

    1 Timothy 1:15-17
15Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. 16But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life. 17Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever.
