This was a time when rap was good, so sad the state of rap now, cuz the shit is tired.

If u smoke like i smoke , then your high like every day...........Yes, "regulate" is a hip hop classic. I like it even more now than i did back then. I kind of hated dre for releasing Chronic, (though i loved it) because i saw so many kids comin 2 hiphop that had no business there. I moved to a nice all american town just before that album dropped. I thought it was pretty cool to be around kids who had hobbies and lacked any reason to walk around and be violent. It was a nice change 4 me. The Chronic dropped then I saw these goodie goodies turn to gangstas. It was funny and depressing. My new friends were quickly dressin more like me but also they decided to make themselves true ganstaz buy makin up there own lil crip sets and blood sets. I hated that. I soon returned to my hood about a year and a half later. I earned my hood pass. After the Chronic, kids were makin ther own at kinkos. Now that im older i know how the whole industry works. After the Chronic dropped hip hop was no longer MINE, i shared it with Sprite. Much love to Dr DRE and warren G I will always appreciate your contributions. Yes Yes Yall

Once again, you can tell when the East Coast is in the house, because there's hating on anybody who aint from New York. "Regulate" is one of the best songs ever period. From the best era of hip-hop period. The bottom line is that the West Coast had better songwriters. Dr. Dre,Ice Cube, Warren G., Snoop(before he sucked donkey dick), and all those Death Row guys had better songs. New York's got the crazy lyricists, but besides Public Enemy, the songs weren't as good. Great rappers, ok songs. It wasn't until Biggie, who admittedly wanted to write an East Coast version of Amerikkkaz Most Wanted and The Chronic, did New York MC's recognize that songs were more important than just showing off your skills.
