Im from the bay and I think the hip hop out here is crap(some of it is good like 40 but most of it is like cartoonish crap). I noticed that people in the bay buy whatever the rap stars in the bay tell them to buy. I mean mac dre was horrible but they made him into some kind of legend just cuz he died. The guys album was called stupid doo doo dumb. He could take a crap in a paper bag and tell kids in the bay to buy it and they would buy that paper bag with his crap in it for $20 as long as it says "hyphy" or "thizz" on it. Thats the truth. All the rappers in the bay are cartoon characters. As long as you got some weird voice and some oversized sunglasses on, and talk real loud, these kids will be impressed. Its no wonder 2pac started reppin l.a. as soon as he left. Id be embarrassed too. I love the bay, but the music comin out of it is a joke.
