This week I'm going to try to do all-requests.
We'll start By Request week off with one that's been sitting in my email for quite some time now. Jamie Foxx, painfully smitten with the acting bug, apparently only wants to bring niggas down with him. Twista, Eva Pigford (no jokes on the name... yet) and Winky Wright head an all-star cast in Brother Ray's new video "DJ Play A Love Song." [watch above]

Jamie Foxx has the blackest lips I've ever seen. Not Whoopi Goldberg, Larry Holmes, Wish Bone, or Leon Spinks can compete with this man. He can’t smoke that many blunts can he? The nigga looks like he got a bad case of frostbite and never recovered.

I’d be mad as shit if I were Maxwell. This album could have been a lot better. Each song sounds like Jamie Foxx is doing his best impersonation of someone else. This Latin-flavored “A Low Down Dirty Shame” with no actual Latins in it must have Montell Jordan almost as angry as Maxwell should be.

Isn’t it supposed to be really hot outside too? Why does Twista have on 8 ferrets? Is that all he packed? Welcome to the touchdown club! To make matters worse, they got dude Driving Miss Daisy Dukes and Bundini Brown out of town. Not a good look for Twista all around. But I guess we should all be happy that the neighborhood 4th-and-goal has a job.
I ain’t gonna complain about this video. I’m just thanking whoever’s up there that they kept Western Kenya’s crazy ass away from this set. He probably called Jamie and Twista’s cell phones repeatedly during the shoot attempting to find the secret location of the Honeycomb Hideout.

I like this song, but I think Can I Take U Home or Do What It Do should've been the next single. Jamie can sing his ass off, and nowhere on his album does he impersonate anyone except in the first few seconds of Do What It Do.
What? Sorry to say but you're hatin. Jamie Foxx is bringin true R&B back, unlike cats like Chris Brown who is talented but not really singing and Marques Houston who is just wack. Jamie foxx byfar has one of the best R&G-as snoop would say-albums since Jodeci! although the treatment for this video was kinda wack he should have done a different song.
This song is by far the best song on the album....all the rest sound like recycled must from 1995 using an old Timbaland beat...

To me a lot of the hype about
him is grossly overrated.
I too think he has a nice voice

His cd was decent, it had a nice little vibe to it. Can't complain compared to half the shit thats out now. Don't care for the video's though.
The album is pretty good. Not spectacular but it's better than a lot of the other fake ass R & B being put out. Now with that said. I love this. Hate Twista's part. He should have taken Twista out and added another singing verse. I hate the video. Is it just me or do they spend 2 minutes running towards each other? Where the hell did the water scene come from? Do What it Do should definitely be the next single though.
Much like the movies Jamie Foxx has taken roles in after receiving an oscar, this video was straight garbage...

Not that any of you need to know this, but some of you seem to need some clarification. I am a huge Jamie Foxx fan. I'm one of only a few people I know that own "Peep This."
To be honest, I found that shit more creative than this new one. I, by no means, think his album is BAD... but yes, I think he held back a lot and rested his laurels on familiar crutches and fallbacks.
Of course he's not Chris Brown... but let's not kid ourselves like the nigga's got a Luther album on his hands.
What disappoints me, is I believe Eric Blaine Bishop is talented enough to make one of those classics one day... and I haven't lost faith that he will.

There was an Ashanti video once where she had Nia Long doing all the acting. I think Jamie Foxx should try that approach. At the beginning of this video and the 'Unpredictable' one I laughed a little bit to see Jamie swooning like Ginuwine. I don't know if this is the real Jamie or just filling the role of every other male R&B singer in a video, but it doesn't work for him.
