I normally don't do videos this old, but you bastards kept pestering, and I actually had something to say about the "Check On It" [watch it now] phenomenon. While I think this song is all kinds of annoying and generally horrible, it's a special kind of guilty pleasure. Thank you, Slim Thug and Bun-B for giving us haters soooooo much to work with.
As we alluded to yesterday... This song is really changing the game at the downtown NYC bars and shit. I knew the Marisols and the Shaleequas would all do their best Beyonce impersonation when this shit came on, but the Beckys are really trying to get niggas to check up on it! This video gets the thumbs down from the beginning thanks to the Pink Panther clips and pink margins. I don't care if this shit was on the soundtrack. I liked Bun's album Ron, but I guess I'm just a fan. It did have to grow on me, but I even like Jeezy's 2 (two!) verses -- and I can't stand that snow-sniffin mufucka! (That's right!)
I even liked the Slim Thug album that leaked before the real came out. I think that one would went at least Already Gold. It had more Neptuney and soul beats on it. Maybe he'll call the next one "Almost Platinum" or "Not even Gold" I like that nikka's flow, though.
