For the record, I like Dru Hill. Always have.
The most important thing is that them boys sounded damn good. Especially Sisqo. That man proved to us that while we already had one K-Ci Hailey, there was always room for improvement. And while Sis' was always an on-screen liability because of his miniature Rodman-meets-RuPaul appearance, they still made some pretty cool videos in their early going. For Throwback Thursday, we're gonna get into one of their boo-boos. With the group in disarray and already falling apart in front of everyone's very eyes, they enlist the aid of soon-to-be-ostracized Ja Rule and create the video for "You Are Everything" [watch above]... a debacle the likes of which offends actual gay people.
Seriously... they don't want to be portrayed this way. It's like how we feel about The Negro Channel.
Sigh... Sisqo looks like a gay stripper who should be named Rodeo. What an unworthy video for Matrix effects. They probably shouldn’t have even spent what they spent at Big G. Al’s Leather Shack on this video. (I bet he still wears that vest.)
Do you see Jazz and Nokio on that stage with Fran-Sisqo? Hell motherfuckin, no! The rest of the Dru did not have his back on this dance routine. They had to occupy themselves in other ways.
Of couse, Ja Rule is down with this freight train collision. No surprise there.
How can you act hard and rap, bounce, bop or otherwise show acknowledgement to this song? I already want to jab myself in the ears with a car antenna. I mean... I'm a real ass nigga like that!
Is Nokio getting high-speed dome action? Wow. You know how "In My Bed" had that twist where the lover is a girl… I could have sworn this video’s twist would be Sisqo with a wig in Nokio’s lap. I’ve never been one for the homophobia, but this video is entirely too gay to function. (See: Mean Girls)
I mean, the visuals almost completely distract you from the fact that Nokio’s verse is certified ass-cakes.
Contrary to how cool the shit looks, having bitches (either male or female) all over you while you’re driving is a surprisingly easy way to end up front page news... and not Eddie Murphy "I got caught out there doing some shit I really had no business doing" front page news... We're talkin about "hoodrat relatives wailin hysterically in front of a news camera talkin about how good a kid you were" kind of front page news.

Salt N Pepa videos have more girls. There are more women in the "Whatta Man" and "Shoop" videos. Aside from that, we got dude doin the Brokeback Buckaroo routine with 2 Nation of Islam-lookin niggas on either side of him. I think it's safe to say somethin ain’t right about this video!
The dragon guitar is dope in and of itself, but as part of the Snow Dogs’ Best Supporting Actor’s package it’s a bit much. Like I said before… Nothing at all wrong with being gay. Just don’t try to fool us. Don’t give us amaretto and tell us it’s everclear. We’re smarter than that, Xandir.

I don't think the matrix effects were too good for this video, but I do think that they killed the effect. They tried to use it in almost every scene. Like there's no reason for them to induce a seisure.

At the time, the video was well ahead of it's time and it has not particularly dated well. The song was also well ahead of its time - it's probably one of the first songs to bring the mix of R&B and Rap to the mainstream.
The original version of You Are Everything (from Enter thr Dru) is fucking awesome.
Don't hate on Dru Hill - alot of these fucking R&B clowns could learn a thing or two about actual talent. Sisqo could sing AND dance live at the same time which in this day and age is rarity.

From what I heard, K-Ci walked up to Sissy, I mean Sisqo, and He-Bitch-Man slapped him, Sisqo ran off like a coward, and left the rest of the group to get scraped, I also heard Jodeci had something 2 do with B2K breaking up, I heard DeVante put a Desert Eagle in Omarion's mouth, while Jo-Jo & Mr. Dalvin held him down, and told him 2 break the group up, they say Jagged Edge is next.
