Damn, am I glad to be doing videos again?! That Flavor Flav shit will rot your brain.
By very popular request, we're gonna watch the Prince of Jamaica combine forces and weed-sack contents with the King of R&B. (By now you all should know that shit stands for "Rocks & Blunts.") In an ode to the loveliness of womenses both inside and out "Beautiful" [watch it now] emerges as Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley's third video single. Add the crack gurglings and dance stylings of Bobby Brown and you've got yourself a jam!
I didn’t know that was Bobby at first. I thought it was one of the destitute ghetto yute (youths) from the “Welcome to Jamrock” video.
I recognize that spin move Bobby does! He did it on The Chris Rock Show 10 years ago. (Come to my house! I got that episode saved on DVR.) I also saw someone who looked just like him doing it on the Red Line of the T in Boston.
Please tell me Jr. Gong didn’t smoke with Bobby Brown! Well… that’s the beginning of the end for his ass. I’m callin’ it. Once you smoke with Bob or Whitney, there’s no coming back. Aw hell-to-the-naw!
Did you see Bobby on "The Shop?!" (Them niggas can't do it like me, but respect to their spirit.) While he's obviously Pookied out, he hasn't completely lost his sense. Uh Oh… Damian is shoutin out Jazze Pha like all of the other rappers. As disturbed as I am by this, I would pay money to hear Damian say “’Ear me now! Dis be a Jazze Phizzle produc-shizzle.” (The worst attempt at an “izzle” catchphrase I’ve ever heard.)
I see they hollered at Black Eyed Peas for guidance on making the video. I thought I saw Fergie in the video too. I don’t think it was her though… just a light-skinned video extra (who serves about the same purpose in life as Fergie does.)
You gotta have the right layout for the crack monster… which they do. In the scheme of things Bobby sounds pretty damn good. Much like in Thug Lovin'. “And I know you’re getting boooooooored!”
Pretty dope video. I’m not angry at the social commentary in the background imagery because unlike other artists who misuse the visages of our fallen heroes, Damian Marley seems sincere. I’m actually quite surprised at how much of a handle he seems to have on the plight of black folks… you know… being that he grew up as an unofficial prince of Jamaica.
I’m also glad they put another track out from Damian that’s not “Jamrock.”

It's a song with a good social message, and it's pop because they got Bobby on there singing the hook. So, we'll be seeing more of it on at least one of the Viacom stations more often.
