Mexico's house is going to be temporarily converted into Run's House.
Unlike Ultimate Hustler, I've been catching a little bit of this show on bored afternoons. From watching the first few episodes I've gathered that everyone in this family is of below average intelligence or worse, making my job easy as fuck. This week's episode finds Run's daughter, Vanessa, going to Colorado for a shoot with the Ford Modeling Agency on a denim campaign (surprise). Of course the rest of the family must tag along. Shit, it's summertime! They ain't got nothin else better to do, right?
I love that Run appears to be so involved with his family. He seems like a really committed dad, which is cool to see. However, some people probably shouldn't be raising kids. Between him and his wife, who's teaching these kids anything? They've got plenty of love, but they're dumb as rocks. The nigga asked why the sport was called "WHITE water rafting" and I don't think he was joking.
Annoying the kids like a little brother in disguise is something parents should do from time to time... But Run's incessant childishness is a horrible example for them brain-dead kids. How you gonna scream Foo Fighters' "Best of You" at your family like you're high on sherm and expect your youngest kid with anger management issues not to pour toilet bowl cleaner on his siblings? Ya sendin mixed messages, my nigga!
For her first gig, Vanessa looked like she was doing pretty good. Thank god she found something she can do with herself. If she grew up broke I'd be scared for her survival. She might be on somebody's stroll by now. I could see her makin A Pimp Named Slickback say the Pimp's Prayer on a nightly basis.
While Van is out getting her centerfold on, the rest of the family is finding other shit to do:
Isn't it funny that Run absolutely abhors massage. I'm sure he's had his share of hands on him touring the planet with Run-DMC. Shit, he probably still has his hoes on the side NOW. Jojo, Diggy and Rusty are tearing the amusement park up like 3 retards at Pottery Barn. The oldest son is like 15. The other 2 are like 10 and 8 respectively. Yet, Jojo loves nothing more than to defeat the younger sibling, and the girls, at every physical contest possible. He didn't even look like he wanted to finish second in the zipline. There's gotta be some kind of complex behind that shit. I don't wanna call these kids touches, but I think Run and homegirl might have still been smoking woolahs before they knew they were pregnant... 5 times.
I totally understand how shook Run and his wife were on the sky tram. I don't think us black folk like heights too much in general. I would have flipped out a lot worse. They definitely looked like they got tricked into getting on that thing. There wasn't another soul on it in the middle of the day.
Upon reuniting with the supermodel they decide to go fly fishing, during which Run proclaims that "You gotta be FLY to go fly fishing." He's a bit corny, but these kids are lucky to have a dad with a sense of humor... and is brothers with Russell Simmons.
As a general rule of the show, I love watching him twist up and ignore certain applicable scripture and biblical principles for his own benefit. Whenever I see him fuck the bible up or ignore something good his wife tells him I take a swig off my flask of bourbon and say "Ooooooh! Rev ain't right!" (a la Ghostface)

Rev. Run show is cool....Something that bothers me about his show is that he's supposed to be a preacher but he curses?
I'm not even gonna lie. I thought this show was so stupid when I first saw it. Once I started seeing it, I realized I was hating. I watched it a few times and now I'm hooked. Once you learn the personalities of the different family members, you become kind of attached to them. I think this show is a good thing for America. We have so many reality shows that depict negative things. Here is a well adjusted, wealthy black family with both parents in the home. A lot of us never have and never will experience a life like that, so it fascinates us. I predict it to be a hit. I'm sure it's doing big numbers right now and I bet they get signed on for a few more seasons.

When I first saw the lead up to the show I was saying to myself, "Run is about to play himself out like Flava Flav did on VH1". So I refused to even watch it, until I fell asleep watching another show and woke up and it "Runs House" was on. After watch I must admit I really like the show and what it was about. I like how Run and his family was coming off. I love seeing complete black families together doing there thang and trying to make it work in a positive fashion. Right now I think it is the best black show on TV right now. Now that is just my oppinion......

I can't front on "Run's House". At least there is a show on tv that shows what a black family can be minus the stereotypical variables i.e. projects,poverty,single parent, etc...Even though they are wealthy, he and his wife seem to keep his kids somewhat grounded. And he teaches them things without being preachy and hollier than thou about it. They aren't the Cosby's, but at least they seem real.
Why doesn't BET show cause their cheap asses who don't spend money on good quality shows. Runs daughter are hella sexy. I can watch them two all day. You're right Angela is a fine thang . Vanessa is 21, Angela is 18, Jo Jo is 15/16. Vanessa & Angela have the same mother, Jo Jo has a different mother. The 2 youngest boys Diggy & Russell are from Run and his wife Justine. Sidebar - Angela's voice is annoying, and all the boys need braces. Run knows that his ass does not take a bath like that every morning. I thought the show would be boring but I catch the repeats on the weekends.
