$tar Easy feat. Big Smoove - "Georgia"

Wow, I think these guys may be from Georgia.
Today’s selection is directed by Walter McElroy, jr. and comes from an up-and-coming collective of fellas from some state in the south that is not made entirely evident. $tar Easy (with a dollar sign) and crooner partner Big Smoove (with a “v”) sample the legendary Ray Charles for a solid single and a rather charming video entitled “Georgia.” [watch it now]
I love the beginning. It's supposed to make you feel like it's from 50 years ago, when really it looks like last week, just in black and white. But it was still a cool segue into what we're in for.
Not looking to exploit their homestate in any way, they make sure the Ray Charles sample exclaiming “Georgia” plays every about 5 seconds. $tar Easy cleverly wraps (and raps) around these vocal sample placements until Big Smoove whines on the hook. $tar… I know he your folk and all that, but damn son if you need a big black dude on the hook, you should spring for LV. At least he can hold a note, and I don’t think he’s doing too much these days. Big Smoove definitely doesn’t cut the mustard. I’m guessing he can cut the hell out of a steak sandwich though.
Based on the intro, I was expecting some pretty deep shit. Still, laden with imagery of people enjoying themselves and guls getting down on the flo’, $tar and Smoove achieve something rare… a “good” low-budget video. I feel like I know these dudes from watching this. With the amounts of mainstream, big-budget bullshit I am forced to watch on a daily basis, I'll take this.
No hood classic is complete without a shot of “the white boy who can shake.” Made popular by Missy Elliot and practiced by many, $tar Easy is able to get a hold of the ghetto-renowned and coveted white kid from the suburbs who listened to one too many Bad Boy records. Good work, Bradley! You Harlem Shook your ass off… in Georgia… in 2005.
This is a quality mixtape joint, as I assume that sample will NEVER be cleared. A quality record and video that is earnest, but careful not to completely exploit and fake jacks is rare. The $.E.G.A. records camp certainly has a foundation here to work with. They are one major move away from mainstream success though, and I hope they sign Sonic the Hedgehog soon. I heard he’s already in talks with G-Unit.

Segaboys-Georgia was released on a kappa cd Late March, they performed the song april 9th @ ricks in valdosta ga, i'm from albany

Field Mobb&Ludacris came out with it like 3 months later. Yes S.E.G.A. performed in Valdosta at Ricks and the song was on a Kappa Mixtape. They also opened up with Georgia at the Heavy Chevy Show 2 weeks ago in Baxley,Ga for Killa Mike and Jagged Edge.Also opened up for Pastor Troy and Mike Jones. I got much luv for Field Mobb and Ludacris but S.E.G.A. did it for the whole state of Ga, representing Southeast Ga. Waycross, Hormerville, Albany, Da Wick, Valdosta, Macon, & Da A-Town.

The song is nothing compared to field mobb's joint. SEGA may have came out with it earlier but they should have waited and took a little more time with it before they put it out. If field mobb bit the song they only did the song right.
The song is cool, but where is the hook? Fat boy should have been @ the bar-b-que pit, not in the studio. But it was a nice video even w/ all the homley girls.
