C-Rayz Walz - "Blackout"

You've heard of Trading Places, even Trading Spaces... Well, today we're Trading RACES. Maybe I can ACTUALLY be Mexican then! In his new video "Blackout," [watch it now] New York underground mainstay C-Rayz Walz, with help from a really cheap camera and some muppets, helps us realize this fantasy, no matter how psychologically unhealthy it may be.

I was a little afraid of what to expect from a C-Rayz video, but I must say... This shit is downright hilarious. In honor of the selection, I'll do the rest of the review (*drumroll please*) as if I were a white dude (stereotypes only, of course).

The Invisible Mexico - Act I:

Golly gee whillickers, it looks like a public access Sesame Street. Wait a second... Isn't Sesame Street already public access? I don't know. I was raised on Nintendo and Valium.

Wait a second... Black people aren't already friends with the police? But they're here to protect and sevre!

Race-jumping puppets rule! I've always wondered what it would be like to be a black guy! I'd love to be able to dance like 50 Cent. Disco Inferno, baby! 5 or 6 inches on my penis size would also be pretty sweet!

No fucking way, man! They're eating "O.G. Crackers!" My faaaaavorite!

I guess this is that "white man's guilt" thing my parents say all my socialist friends have, but conveyed through puppets. *sigh* Must be rough blaming yourself for all of the troubles of the colored world. Whatever, I'm going to Starbucks.

I didn't know black people liked giraffes too! What are they doing with those candles? Is that the black Channukah? Wow, we have more in common than I thought!

and... scene!

Okay, that was fun. Now to get back into Ron Mexico mode.

Of course the video takes a Walzian turn as they are abducted by aliens who sing along with the chorus. Sometimes I wonder if Walz is from this planet at all. Either way, we have a nice brain tickle for you today. Make of it what you will. But I felt like this video was a satire I couldn't pass up this week.

Shalom.

  • I know you're not talking to me, right?

    Whodafuckareyou?!

Leave my readers alone. I'mma protect my family. Talk about the videos.

besides, if they aren't from NY or firmly entrenched in underground hip hop message boards, it would not be easy to know who C-Rayz Walz or the rest Stronghold are.

He's not one of the better promoted artists on Def Jux... which also isn't saying too much. Aesop Rock had a pretty large fan base before DJX.

... and I'm sure Walz is glad and proud he was on MADE.

  • I NOTICE ANY POSITIVE COMMENTS MADE ABOUT C-RAYZ WALZ'S VIDEO ARE DELETED FROM THIS POST. RON MEXXX, IT'S CLEAR THAT YOU HAVE HATE FOR WALZ, BUT DO YOU HAVE TO BE SO OBVIOUS WITH IT?

  • 1. What are you talking about? What did I delete?

    2. Clear I have hate for him? Can you read? I guess not. Because you missed my defense of and praise for Walz. Read some of my other reviews and talk to me about some hate.

As a C-Rayz Walz listener, I actually think this is some dumbed down shit from him. He's even better than this. But it made a good video.

But yeah... I don't know what you're talkin about. No one's even been posting anything for me to be erasing. I could have put a fuckin G-Unit video or something here... what does my selection a low budget C-Rayz video say to you?
