He Said He Loved Me, And Her, And Her

I met this guy in Memphis some years back while visiting some friends. We talked and became friends, sending for each other back and forth between states. I met his family, he met mine. Hell, I even let him meet my daughter, which is a big no-no for any man in my life.

He started telling me he loved me, the sex was great, and I just felt good being with him. I started falling in love with him, but soon realized that his term for “love” was different than mine. He was the type that said “I love you” like he was saying hello. I didn't catch it at first, until I heard him over the phone telling another woman he loved her while driving from his parents’ house.

To say I was crushed was an understatement. When I asked him about it, he told me he did love her - in fact he has a lot of women he loves and I'm just one of them. He said it like it was no big deal, and it wouldn't have been, if he never had said it during the times we had sex. I told him I never wanted to see him again, and he shrugged like it was not a problem.

A week later I get a call from his mother explaining why she never really talked to me when I visited the house. I mean his dad and siblings were cool, but his mom was just pleasant, when she used to be as cool as them. Come to find out, during the two years we were messing around, the last 3 months of our so called relationship, he meets this chick on Blackplanet and gets engaged! His mother didn't want to be caught up, but decided to tell me once she found out we were no longer dealing with one another, because she never approved of how he did things, but he was grown, so what could she do.

At this point, I'm too shocked to cry. I actually want to bust a few on him, but I'm too cute for jail and I have my daughter to look after. But Karma is a bitch - the chick he got with played him for his loot, cheated on him and got pregnant with another man's seed. All this in the course of 6 months.

So guess who came crawling back to the woman he should have been with. He was whining, crying, “shoulda, coulda, wouldas” and all that out of his mouth. To be honest I wanted to feel happy he got his heart ripped out, but it never came. I actually felt sorry for dude, which shocked the hell out of me. However I was not sorry enough to take his trifling ass back. I am at peace, especially with him begging damn near everyday for another chance since '99. You would think the fool would have given up by now. I've moved on twice since then and he's still waiting.
