Hip-Hop and ballroom dancing collide in Take the Lead, opening April 7th everywhere. But you don't have to be a dancer to take the lead -- check out how these teens take the lead in their own lives.

How M-1 Lives as a Revolutionary

12 Comments » April 12, 2006

Well the reason I’m a revolutionary or why I like to consider myself a revolutionary is because I’m not a reactionary. Meaning that I’m not a reactor, meaning that I’m on offense, as well as good defense.

Plan your work and then work your plan and when you do that you’ll always be ahead of the game. Have a take control aspect of your life. Then you could judge the world from the point of view of someone who is changing it, not having to have the world change.

Much props for keeping it real. I wish M-1 had a better venue to get his word out.

We need more cats like M-1 in the hoods across AmeriKKKa, 2 teach the babies how 2 live right and exact, I use cats like M-1, Paris, Immortal Technique and Saigon as an example of how 2 get involved in community programs and educate the youth so they won't have to go in the wrong direction.

BIG UPS 2 THE PEOPLE'S ARMY!!!!!

I am That Dude & I approve this message.

thanks for the advice dr. phil

here let me try: "build on your control and you can control what you build"

just a bunch of empty aphorisms; you might fool ignorant rap fans with this stuff, but you're certainly no "revolutionary"

Yo what have yall done since let's get free? It's been 6 years. How long does it take to make another album. I love yall, but come on yall are going popcorn and seem unfocused.

Talking the same shit.

I just want to say that artists like M-1 who actually have something to say besides what kind of car they have and all that other BS are a breath of fresh air to a sista like me who sees thru all that materialistic ish... I think he is just what Hip Hop needs, a leader, because he's for the people, he's about depth, and it's just a positive message. Our kids are being raised on some nonsense right now. I hardly want to have any cuz I get disgusted with the environment we're moving towards. But that's another thread, I just hope Hip Hop will go further in this direction in the near future because we need to get substance back instead of trying to be the flyest in whatever area, it's got to the point where it's outta control right now. Bring it back, M-1... and wake the hell up people, before you find yourself caught up.

M1 much respect to you for your gifts and inspiration that you bring to the community! I must admit I only have heard a few tracks of your work, however, for the most part all are informative and inspirational.
Just the insight you bring to Take the lead as well as your messages are truly needed to heard in todays wasteland of Hip Hop gangsterism and ignorance.
