They smacked up those shrimp on the Barbie dudes 116-85. UGH! Now, they're in the semis, which essentially means 2 'W's away from GOLD!

I loooove goooooold!

It's going to happen. But I still can't believe peeps are willing to compare this squad to the original Dream Team. I mean, shoot, I can't front ... I'm one of them.

But what the OG's did what HISTORY. These young dudes are carving their own lanes. Yea, it's just that simple.

Moving on, with the media fixated on this Phelps kid, I hope they're not sleeping on the Jamaican homie Usain Bolt.

If his name isn't familiar to you, GET FAMILIAR! Dude is Just Blaaaaazing fast. He set the World record in the 100m with a 9.69 and just set the 200m record right now.

Brings me sadness to say, but this is the kid's last post. It's been real. Love.

And for all my NYC heads you might see ya boy out and about this weekend taking in some high school B-Ball.

The Olympics are winding down and on the real, the kid couldn't be happier. Keeping it funky, my mom and my aunts like the Olympics more than I do or ever will. Think I'm the only one?

Tell me you’d be watching the Olympics if basketball or football were in season. Shoot, I’d rather watch NFL preseason than the Olympics and that’s real!

There’s something about the world stage as opposed to American turf that just doesn’t make me go crazy. On one hand, it’s cool seeing Michael Phelps do his thing and Jamaica’s Usain Bolt putting up a just blaaaazing time in the 100m, but I’M STUCK IN MY WAYS, HOMIE!

I like my football on Sundays and about May through June, I’m all about the NBA playoffs. It’s that serious with the kid!

Besides, the Olympics are gimmicky, maaaan. Every four years there’s one dude the world goes crazy for. This time around it’s Phelps – and what dude’s doing is crazy – but at the end of the day, he’s a f**king swimmer!

SOHH what, I got an army of swimmers … and they mean business!

I remember years ago when the world had fever for Michael Johnson aka the fastest man in the world back then.

It’s always one guy! That’s the difference between the Olympics and NBA, NFL, MLB. In each of those leagues there are a ton of dudes to keep an eye on at all times (pause).

Are ya’ll with me on this!? ARE YOU GLAD TO SEE THE OLYMPICS GO? JUST HOW MUCH DO YOU LIKE THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE?

SOHH your boy saw Brett Favre up close and personal on Saturday night … and dude did his thing, even though it was a preseason game.

Favre went 5-of-6 passing for 48 yards and looked mighty crisp working the Jets offense. SOHH Favre SOHH good, I guess.

The Jets wound up losing to the Redskins, but we all know the preseason doesn’t mean sh*t.

The real question is: IS FAVRE GOOD ENOUGH TO LAND THOSE JETS IN THE PLAYOFFS?

AYO, I’m not too sure about that one. I mean, the AFC is the cream of the crop.

In the AFC alone you have squads like the Patriots, Steelers, Colts and Chargers, who should all make the playoffs. Then, teams like the Jags, Titans and Broncos should all be right in the mix.

SOHH HOW IN THE F**K ARE THE JETS MAKING THE PLAYOFFS!?

I will say that before the Jets even got Favre, they got a little more deez on both sides of the ball, SOHH they were a better team to begin with.

But this is a squad that went 4-12 last season! UGH! I say Favre’s presence alone gives them at least four more (maybe five more) wins, but that would leave ’em at 8-8 or 9-7 and we all know those records ain’t good enough to make the cut in the AFC.

Favre’s good, but is he that good? Can he lead the Jets to the playoffs!?

SOHH Coach K showed the U.S. Hoops squad a video tape of them Greeks dancing all over the court after their 2006 upset of the Americans. And then Kobe, LeBron and D. Wade ran those Greeks out of Beijing.

Oh my God … the highlights from this one were serious. There was one play that Wade played the lanes, steals the ball and just chucks it up carelessly to Kobe, who flushes it down with two hands. UGGGH! Seeerious!

Yea, the trio of Kobe, LeBron and D. Wade is serious. I asked this before, but let me vary this question a bit. When these Olympic Games are all done, will Kobe, LeBron and D. Wade be considered a better trio than Jordan, Bird and Magic!? Holla at me, maaaan!

Moving on, your boy Ballsy just caught wind that Shaq Diesel and his beautiful wifey Shaunie are patching things up. Apparently, neither could truthfully answer why they were getting a divorce in the first place. HOLD UP!

I thought shortie was smuggling his money into foreign accounts. Well, I’m happy for ’em … even though your boy Ballsy could have easily taken Shaunie off your arm if ya’ll did go through with the divorce. I don’t even make money like that, SOHH, no problems with accounts here. Ha!

Finally … and I don’t really know what to think about this, but former Yankee don and current Dodgers manager Joe Torre ordered Manny Ramirez to trim his dreadlocks a bit. Manny being Manny followed through and trimmed the locks!

Here’s the proof. One inch off.

Here’s Torre’s explanation:

"He came in and showed me. As Billy Crystal said in 'Analyze That,' it's a process. He took a little bit off. It's within the rules of cleaning it up a little bit. Right now, it's around his shoulders. It's not covering his name up. We'll continue to monitor it."

Maaaan, I love Joe Torre, but isn’t he guilty of using a ‘Good ole boy mentality’ here? Manny is a hitting machine. What does his hair have to do with that? NATHAN! NADA! NOTHIN!

Manny should have told him, “LONG HAIR, DON’T CARE!” Who's with me?

STOP CALLING DUDE THE GREATEST ATHLETE OF ALL TIME! DON'T GET GASSED!

DON'T YOU DARE CALL A SWIMMER THE GREATEST ATHLETE OF ALL TIME!

I'M GOING TO FIND THE NEXT PERSON THAT CALLS PHELPS 'THE GREATEST' AND BACKSLAP HIM LIKE LEBRON WANTS TO DO TO THIS PIECE OF ASS HE'S STARING AT (THINK HE HIT?).

Just the fact people are calling Phelps 'The Greatest' is a slight to Muhammad Ali, who we all know as being 'THE GREATEST.' Then, don't even get me started on Michael Jordan. Even Tiger Woods is greater than some swimmer. Kobe and LeBron are greater than dude too. SOHH is Patrick Ewing, ha!

Listen maaaan, I'm not discrediting dude. I've peeped his highlights on SportsCenter. I see how he's always a body length (and more) past his competition in that pool. But the thing that people aren't recognizing is he's 6'4", SOHH the minute he jumps in the pool he has a reach advantage.

Furthermore, has Phelps transcended pop culture and had impact like Ali or MJ? If you answer yes, I'm calling BLASPHEMY! One reporter even suggested Gatorade puts out a 'Be Like Mike' remix commercial for Phelps. To that your boy says, BLASPHEMY! SACRILEGE!

When that 'Be Like Mike' commercial originally hit, there were kids of all races getting on that court with that basketball. I don't see an overflow of kids rushing the pool because of Phelps. Ok, maybe White kids are ... who knows?

There isn't any worldwide sports stage bigger than the Olympics, but for that same reason people get gassed. This swimmer is great in his own right ... BUT EVEN IF HE RUNS A FORT KNOX OF GOLD, CALLING HIM 'THE GREATEST' IS OFF LIMITS, G!

What's your take on this? Holla at me, maaaan!

Now there's another squad in the world that's stealing all that attention, but for all the wrong reasons.

I’m talking about Spain and its team picture that hit the net yesterday, stirring up outrage.

Before the Olympic Games even began, all 15 members of Spain’s hoops team – including the Lakers’ Pau Gasol and Raptors’ Jose Calderon – took a team portrait, in which they’re all shown slanting their eyes, while flashing smiles.

SMH.

After being booed to death by the Beijing crowd, this idiot Calderon offered this to say about the picture:

“We thought it was something appropriate and that it would always be interpreted as somewhat loving. From here I would like to declare that we have a huge respect for the East and their people, some of my best friends in Toronto are from China."

Is this guy an idiot or what!? This picture is way more worse than when Shaq told a reporter, “Tell Yao Ming, ‘ching-chong-yang-wah-ah-soh.’”

Making the matter worst is the fact that this Spain team is sponsored by Li Ning, A CHINESE BRAND! Wow! Ya’ll about to lose a deal.

The slant-eyed gesture has been around for a long, long time and is a direct way to offend a Chinese – or any Asian – person. These cats had to know what they were doing, when taking this picture. They can’t be that stupid!

I guess these Spaniards don’t know how gully the Triads are. They'll cut off and leave your nutsack in Chinatown real quick. Then try playing basketball, Pau!

I think Yao Ming should holla at his homies and set up a photo shoot for Spain. Yea, the Chinese team should pose as Flamenco dancers. There ain’t nothing hood or scary about f**king Flamenco. Sissy-ass Flamenco, lol.

But in all seriousness, whether you’re Asian or not – HOW OFFENSIVE DO YOU FIND THIS PICTURE OF SPAIN’S BASKETBALL TEAM?

New York City is a different kind of beast, boy. I should know … I've been working in the media for a minute now. And from being a member of the media, I could tell ya'll that when the New York City media gets a story that has legs, they write, report and televise that ish until they run it bone dry (Superhead style).

That’s what’s happening with Brett Favre right now, b and for good reason. I mean dude does hold nearly every record at quarterback. But the attention is on Fav-ruh SOHH much that people are forgetting about the Giants.

Excuse your boy … the Super Bowl champion Giants! And it’s kind of typical for Eli Manning to get overlooked.

But let this be a warning: Yes, the stars were all aligned, when the Giants won the Super Bowl, but don’t you dare sleep on them again. Even without Michael Strahan, the G-Men are stacked on defense. Osi Umenyiora and Justin Tuck as the bookends and (a healthy) Mathias Kiwanuka and Antonio Pierce behind ’em at linebackers can do a whole lot of work.

And word out of camp and early preseason, is rookie free safety Kenny Phillips really, really brings the pain.

Let’s not forget Super Bowl MVP Eli and Plaxico Burress at wide receiver (Giants just have to re-structure his deal and that ankle has to be healed).

The Giants are going to be good and will need to be with teams like Dallas and Washington making upgrades.

Is Favre’s mere presence in NYC making people sleep on the G-Men? Holla at me, maaaan!

Speaking of the Giants … peep Plaxico go to work on the Cowboys’ secondary in the new Madden 2009. Hopefully this serves as a good example of what’s to come.

I mean, REALLY LOOK at these pictures. These dudes aren’t only flying … they’re floating.

And to think there were actually whispers about THIS U.S. team not being able to get the job done after their slim victory over Australia.

Nah, b … this squad is built to win.

LET THE 31-POINT SMACKDOWN OVER CHINA BE A WARNING: REPEAT AFTER ME THERE’S ONLY ONE RULE – THEY WILL NOT LOSE.

What’s ill about this team is every game is sort of a competition between D. Wade, Kobe and LeBron. That’s reminiscent of the comp between Jordan, Bird and Magic (sort of at least) on the Dream Team. But the difference is these cats are younger. Don’t forget the Dream Team saw Jordan in his prime, but was sort of Bird and Magic’s farewell to the game, period.

Kobe’s definitely in his prime, LeBron (scary to say) hasn’t hit his prime yet and we’ll see if D. Wade already reached his peak this coming 2008-09 season.

SOHH just the convo has me thinking … which trio would you rather have – Magic, Bird and Jordan from the Dream Team or Kobe, LeBron and D. Wade from the Redeem Team? Holla at me, maaaan!

AYO, the Brett Favre trade for a conditional draft pick is as bad as it gets for Green Bay and good as it gets for the J-E-T-S. At least the Packers didn't have to pay dude $20 a milli a milli over 10 years to stay retired, right?

But this isn’t the only lopsided as deal that we’ve seen over the last several years. SOHH without further adieu, here’s four of the more recent worst trades in NFL history:

4. FAVRE TO THE JETS

Favre for a conditional draft pick is a joke, b. Straight up. But you can’t rank this trade as one of the worst, until Favre wins in New York. And from being a born-and-raised New Yorker, let me be the first to tell Favre that Green Bay ain’t no NYC. The City is a monster. He’s going to find out.

3. STEVE YOUNG TO SAN FRAN

Did ya’ll know that all San Fran gave up to get Steve Young from the Tampa Bay Bucs was second and fourth-round Draft selections. Un-f**king-believable. All Young Steve did was lead the 49ers to a Super Bowl. Those second and fourth-round picks are overrated. Don’t get gassed! Dumb trade.

2. THE BUS PULLS INTO PITTSBURGH

Jerome Bettis had two straight 1,000-yard rushing seasons … and then got dealt to Pittsburgh and all the Rams got was … what else but second and fourth-round draft selections. See a theme developing, here?

1. RAIDERS TRADE MOSS TO NEW ENGLAND

Stupid, stupid, stupid! F**k you, Al Davis! Trading Randy Moss to New England for a fourth-round draft pick was the dumbest sh*t in the world. All Moss and Tom Brady did was shred secondaries ALL SEASON LONG! WORST NFL TRADE EVER!

SOHH Brett Favre managed to stay in green after all, but not Packers green … GANG GREEN!

That’s right, as of midnight, Brett Favre is a New York Jet. How about that!? All that smoke surrounding the Jets having interest in Favre turned out to be fire after all.

From the Pack’s standpoint, they trade Favre to the AFC, where he won’t be an obstacle to them. From Favre’s standpoint … well, he just gets a chance to play again.

Favre will definitely make the Jets better – like three or four wins better and possibly the playoffs.

But Favre’s receivers with the Jets aren’t exactly the same group he had in Green Bay. I mean, Laveranues Coles can still get down the field and do some things, but from there you’re dealing with a bunch of wildcards. Jerricho Cotchery – need I say more!?

Think this Favre ish is finally over? Nah, b. It’s just beginning. Mark my words – With all the media scrutiny, New York City is going to be a very tough place for Favre to end his career on a good note. He would have been better off in low-key Tampa Bay. What do ya’ll think about Favre as a Jet? Holla at me, maaaan!

Moving on … everyone’s trying to debate if LeBron will follow Hov to Brooklyn, take over NYC with the Knicks or resign with the Cavs, when he turns into a free agent after the 2010-2011 season.

Well, LeBron said that he would actually entertain a $50 million per season offer to play overseas in Europe. Wow.

Now, I’ll tell ya’ll what … when top prep recruit and point guard Brandon Jennings shed his commitment with Arizona to ball in Europe, that ish opened eyes.

The power of the dollar don’t mean shi*t any more. It’s about that Euro, apparently. Well, $50 mil is a lot of money, but I don’t think LeBron would leave the L to play in Europe because if you play overseas, you have to live overseas and dudes don’t wanna do that. Besides … it would do nothing for his reputation and legacy. Think he’s bullsh*ttin?

Maaan, this Brett Favre business has more twists and turns than most hip-hop beefs. I mean, Jeeesus! The latest has the Packers and Favre done with each other amicably. SOHH the Pack lets him back due to the Commissioner reinstating him, but they don't want his ass and he doesn't want to play for them anymore.

Thank God the two sides said what they wanted to say ALL ALONG! Only took ’em, I don’t know, a few months … and a waste of their, (our) time.

ESPN is reporting that Tampa Bay has emerged as the major player for Favre’s services and could sign him as soon as today. Wow. Stay tuned, I guess. Tampa was a playoff team last season, but Favre ain't powering them to a Super Bowl. Ain't no way!

All I know is if the Pack thinks they’re better off with Aaron Rodgers than Favre they’re smoking that Snoop sticky icky oooh-weeee. I promise that this decision is going to bite them in the ass, watch.

Moving on … don’t look now, but the US Olympic team had trouble beating Australia yesterday. Those Aussies came out with fire in their eyes. Maybe Carmelo Anthony told ’em … “Throw a little shrimp on the barbie” and they snapped. The US only beat ’em 87-76. Maaaan, it’s good to have scares … and win, but it looks like the US may have found its main competition. What do ya’all think?

SOHH for all the ish we've been hearing about what Brett Favre is putting the Packers through and vise versa … we wind up with No. 4 just quietly returning to practice. What? Rewind. Run that back one more time. PUUUUULLLL UUUUPPPP!

BMan, I could have done without all that Favre speculation all those weeks, if the Packers were going to let him back to practice the whole time. Was all that ish worth it? I mean, let’s not forget that just last week the Pack offered Favre a $20 million marketing deal over the next 10 years to STAY RETIRED! Wow. Unbelievable.

And now they just go on and let him back. Although Green Bay isn’t guaranteeing him a spot, it’s allegedly willing to let Favre compete for the starting QB job. Man, were all those weeks of Green Bay shutting Favre down worth it, if it was just going to let the man back anyway?

All this is kind of like the Rick Ross situation. If dude admitted to being a turn key (C.O. for you dullards), then people would have just moved on because he’s making good music. Similarly, if Green Bay would have just let Favre back from the jump, it wouldn’t have had to go through all this bullsh*t. Besides, how quick is Favre getting the starting QB job?

Moving on … I caught this in the wee hours of the morning on SportsCenter last night. Ya’ll gotta see this clip. Here’s Milwaukee Brewers slugger Prince Fielder (son of former player Cecil Fielder) absolutely sonning his teammate Manny Parra.

Peep around the :25 mark of this clip and you’ll see Fielder push Parra against the bench in the dugout and then mush him in the face one time. I kind of like to see sh*t like this once in a while, don’t ya’ll?

He also added that he’s “still ghetto” and that shouldn’t scare Yao. Peep.

“This is Tracy (McGrady) and Yao’s team, you know,” Artest said. “I’m not going to take it personal. I understand what Yao said, but I’m still ghetto. That’s not going to change. I’m never going to change my culture. Yao has played with a lot of black players, but I don’t think he’s ever played with a black player that really represents his culture as much as I represent my culture.”

Here’s Ron Ron breaking it down for the fellas at Pardon the Interruption (peep the suit game – yellow canary and powder blue ya diiig):

What do ya’ll make of all this buffoonery? I just think Artest is the kind of dude other players HATE to play against, but would love to have as a teammate … kinda like Dennis Rodman. Yao … after talking to Artest …. you still scurred mothaf**ka? Keep it real with me! You’ll be Ok. Queensbridge dudes ain’t that bad.

Moving on, everyone is always asking – Jordan vs. Kobe … who would win in their prime?

Well, kids at a basketball camp asked MJ the same question and this was his response.

Q: Who would win in a one-on-one game — you or Kobe?

MJ: Kobe would win because I'm older. In my prime? Not even a contest. Let's just say I have a better chance of stopping him than of him stopping me.

Yeaaaa, tell ’em, MJ. Jordan’s the G.O.A.T. Kobe’s just great and LeBron is the G.O.A.T.I.T. (Greatest of All Times in Training). I’m happy Jordan finally put this to bed, bed, bed. Ya’ll agree with what he had to say or no?

Maaaan, all this Brett Favre business is driving me crazy. The latest news has Green Bay offering to pay Fav-ruh $20 million (sources say closer to $25 mil) over the next 10 years to STAY RETIRED. Golly! Green Bay is insane. In essence, with this offer, the Packers are saying Favre is SOHH good that he'll make them pay. I guess, either way he's making them pay.

Wow.

SOHH with Favre in mind, your boy Ballsy presents:

THE TOP 5 ATHLETES THAT SHOULD HAVE STAYED RETIRED

5. George Foreman

Four words, b: Lean, Mean Grilling Machine. George, you are caked off beyond belief. There was no reason that you came back at 45 (even though you knocked out Michael Moorer). Don’t you ever think about pulling a stunt like that again. Throw those cheeseburgers on the grill and be happy, my man. YOU’RE RICH! True Story: Hulk Hogan could have had the Lean, Mean Grilling Machine, but opted on a juicer that flopped. Wamp, Wamp.

4. Evander Holyfield

Wikipedia cites HOLYfield having 11 children. HOLY SH*T, EVANDER. Maybe you do need to keep boxing. Dude already has attempted too many comebacks and if he keeps f**king around, he’s going to end up talking slooooowwwww. How does someone who used to preach all the time have 11 kids? God Bless him. Sad thing is the heavyweight division sucks SOHH bad, that dude could probably still get work.

3. Felix Trinidad/Deion Sanders

I put Tito and Deion in the same category because there was no need for these dudes to come back in the first place.

Tito should have never returned to the ring after getting sonned by Bernard Hopkins at the Garden, just weeks after 9-11. But of course, Tito did come back. He beat psychopath Nicaraguan Ricardo Mayorga in 2004, but got sonned again a year later by Winky Wright. Then he came back in ’08…and got sonned by Roy Jones. Maaaan, you’re letting a lot of Puerto Ricans down, homie. Boricuas got Cotto (even though he just lost). Don’t come back, Tito.

And yes, another boxer on my list. Surprise, surprise. As a matter of fact, insert your favorite boxer here ________. Chances are if he hasn’t already returned to the sweet science too many times he will. Floyd, you listening?

I put ‘Primetime’ here too because he came back in 2004 with the Ravens … and did absolutely nothing, but feed his ego. He’s sharp behind the booth. Stay there.

2. Roger Clemens

The Yankees now know how much Clemens needed to stay retired. Yet, they offered him $4.5 million PER MONTH to close out the 2007 season. HORRIBLE. Then, all the steroids talk and allegations of him cheating on his wifey numerous times did him in. Where’s he hiding now? I got money that says, it ain’t the Bronx.

1. Michael Jordan

Maaaan, Mike why did you do it!? The first retirement was a premature e-jac, and MJ proved it by winning three more rings. But June 14, 1998, a little more than 10 years ago, when you hit THE SHOT is the memory you should have left us all with. I swear, God was watching basketball that night, when MJ stripped Karl Malone (pause), drove the length of the court, crossed over Byron Russell and hit that timeless J.

Man! You can’t go out better than that! Yet, you had to come back, with the Wizards at that. All I have to say is (in Jim Jones’ voice) …. “BAD KNEES …. BAAAALLLLLIIIINNN’!"

Yao Ming is 7'6", but yet seems to be a shook one about Ron Artest joining the Rockets. That's what a cat from Queensbridge will do to you. Plus, the Manny Ramirez/Red Sox divorce is getting serious.

Here’s what YAO had to say, when a Houston Chronicle columnist asked him about Ron Ron. Mind you, these comments came after T-Mac co-signed on Artest 100%.

And take it away Yao:

“We worry about the new attitude to the team. We are adding talent to the team and we need that, but building team chemistry is important. This is not bad. I don't mean he is not welcome to Houston. But a new player always needs some time.

”There's worry. Obviously, yes. We will think about it, of course. Hopefully, he's not fighting anymore and going after a guy in the stands."

AYO, YAO! Easy there, big fella.

“There’s worry!?” “We will think about it, of course!?” and the worst, “Hopefully, he’s not fighting anymore and going after a guy in the stands!?

You serious? Why SOHH shook!? COME ON, YAO! This is your new teammate. SOHH what if he’s a little crazy!? How about embracing him? HE’S GOING TO HELP YOU!

But I’ll throw it to ya’ll … Does Yao have reason to be apprehensive about Artest teaming with him?

Moving on, the Yankees made a trade deadline move, getting Ivan ‘Pudge’ Rodriguez straight up for Kyle Farnsworth. I like the deal, as the Bronx Bombers could use Pudge at the plate as their every day catcher for Jorge Posada, who’s having season-ending surgery. The Angels adding Mark Texeira will help them get to the World Series, I think.

Before peacing out, what do ya’ll think of these Manny Ramirez comments:

"During my years here I've seen how they [the Red Sox] have mistreated other great players when they didn't want them to try to turn the fans against them," Ramirez said in an interview with ESPNdeportes.com. "The Red Sox did the same with guys like Nomar Garciaparra and Pedro Martinez, and now they do the same with me. Their goal is to paint me as the bad guy. I love Boston fans, but the Red Sox don't deserve me. I'm not talking about money. Mental peace has no price and I don't have peace here."

Wow. As a Yankee fan, I AIN’T MAD! Manny is a fellow New Yorker too (Washington Heights … stand up!) I hope he gets dealt to the Marlins. Miami will show him more love than Boston ever can.
