Through Tuesday evening, both the Wizards and Warriors offered Gilbert Arenas maximum contracts in excess of $100 million! JESUS CHRIST – I can't believe what I'm reading!
The Warriors apparently struck first in the Arenas sweepstakes, slapping down a five-year, $101 million offer, right after B. Diddy opted out and signed with the Clippers.
Not wanting to be outdone, Arenas’ squad, the Wiz, upped the ante with a contract offer that could be worth as much $127 mil. WOW!
Arenas is currently on a promo tour for Adidas in China and said he won’t sign till he gets back to the States.
Maaaan listen … G.A. is a great player. He has showed us that he’s a bonafide star in the L, without a doubt, and I completely understand that a ceiling maximum deal worth over a $100 mil (a milly, a milly, a milly) is what it takes to lock up a franchise player in this day and age. Dude did even drop 60 points in a game and not just any cat can do that. He’s coooooollllddd-blooooooded.
My thing is just flat out:
IS $127 MILLION OR $101 MILLION FOR THAT MATTER TOO MUCH FOR GILBERT ARENAS, A GUY WHO HAD KNEE SURGERY LAST NOVEMBER AND ONLY PLAYED 13 GAMES LAST SEASON!?
Before you get all, ‘Nobody is worth that kind of money on me’ (I agree), but just ask yourself this:
WOULD YOU PUT AGENT 0 GILBERT ARENAS IN THE SAME CLASS AS A KOBE, LEBRON, PAUL PIERCE, DIRK NOWITZKI OR DWYANE WADE!? I’M NOT SOHH SURE. HOLLA AT ME, MAAAAN!
