It happened with 6:49 left in the third quarter, when Kendrick Perkins fell into Paul Pierce, making his knee give out. P2 had to be carried off the court and wheelchaired back to the locker room.
But I guess they do call P2 The Truth for a reason because he slowly walked back through the tunnel like Willis Reed did back in the day with the Knicks ... and did work (Peace to Uncle Jerry from Rob & Big).
Turned out that Pierce suffered a sprained knee, but still wound up scoring 11 of his 22 points after he returned in the second half. That's The Truth right there.

I had the lakers losing game 1. winning game 2 tho...they played half assed throughout the game...and was still there...When pierce got hurt it was like it ignited a fire under them because they were down and came back quick...and when pierce came back, it was a wrap...the lakers couldnt do anything, but I look for a big turnaround in game 2...

Real good game last night. Paul showed a lot of heart and Boston did what a tough team is supposed to do and found a way to hold their home court in game 1. I seriously doubt that anyone in purple & gold is panicking though. Kobe's jumper was off, which you can't count on to continue. Pierce is The Truth no doubt about that but for real dude came back less than a minute and a half after spraining his knee. Reed got hurt in Game 5, completely missed Game 6 and wasn't even expected to play in Game 7 because his injury was so severe. Reed completely tore a muscle in his leg, yet still started Game 7 of the Finals, a game the Knicks obviously went on to win.
