We Major Wednesdays: Who Should The Knicks Hire as New Head Coach!?, KG Wins Def. POY, Chris Paul & Dwight Howard Bring The Business!

Posted on April 23, 2008 6:18 AM

Since this guy sucked running the Knicks for four UGLY years, the organization must look ahead to fill the head coach vacancy.

Here are Ballsy's top candidates for Knicks head coach:

Mark Jackson
A New York, NY guy and former Knick. Has helped Patrick Ewing and Reggie Miller develop into great players as their point guard, although he never copped an NBA ring and has no NBA coaching experience AT ALL! Yet, he seems to be the odds-on-favorite front runner. I like Mark, man, but just because you were a solid point guard in your playing career and you're smooth behind the broadcast booth doesn't mean you can do the job, especially with the Knicks. The Knicks should be more careful because we found out the hard way what can happen with a former point guard leading your team ... and Isiah won championships in Detroit!

Patrick Ewing
Patrick Ewing's name ain't coming up in the shuffle and I don't know why! After all, he's the former Knick WITH coaching experience, not Mark Jackson. All Jackson's done was sit behind the broadcast booth. Pat has served as an assistant coach for Orlando and Houston. WHY NOT GIVE HIM A CHANCE!?

Herb Williams
Former Knick Charles Oakley thinks Herb's the guy for the job: http://www.newsday.com/sports/basketball/knicks/ny-spweboak0423,0,1524914.story

Jeff Van Gundy

I doubt Van Gundy would ever want to return to NY. He's too comfortable talking in the booth now. But dude's a solid coach.

SOHH THE $1 MILLION QUESTION: WHO SHOULD REPLACE ISIAH AS THE KNICKS NEW HEAD COACH!? HOLLA AT ME, MAAAAN!

Moving on to some playoffs last night:

Ayo, I WOULD PAY TO SEE CHRIS PAUL OR DWIGHT HOWARD PLAY. FOR REAL!

Chris Paul had 32 points and 17 assists (WOW...17 dimes) to lead the Hornets to a 127-103 victory over the Mavericks last night, giving them a 2-0 series lead. Yeaa, umm, something tells me CP3 is winning the point guard matchup against Jason Kidd SOHH far. Just a hunch, ya diiiig!

Not to be outdone ... Dwight Howard had 29 points and 20 rebounds, marking his second straight 20-20 game. Something tells me you Raptors ain't winning sh*t, as long as DH is dropping numbers like that on you. I mean, JESUS! That man is SUPERMAN!

Peep him go to work here:

Spurs up on the Suns, 2-0. SMH. I knew that sh*t was going to happen, maan. Phoenix had to take Game 1. That was their game. The Spurs are too crafty. Now Phoenix is down 2-0. One loss in Phoenix will do the Suns in. SMH. This COULD HAVE BEEN A SERIES!

Finally, KG was named the Defensive Player of The Year. Somewhere Bruce Bowen is plotting to injure him. I just know it! KG - Watch your back!

  • Looks like Dallas traded their young, quick point guard who can shoot (Devin Harris) for a not so quick anymore, 35 year old point guard who can shoot good once in a blue blue moon.

  • JEFF VAN GUNDY!!!! CP3 is the MVP regardless of the voting. I think he's inspired his team more than anyother player at this point. I look at the way they're dominating Dallas (which isn't hard I guess) and he's just elevated his game beyond all expectations.

  • Goddamn Ballsy, you ARE an idiot! TWICE, the magic blew 20+point leads at home, just barely winning last night at the buzzer, the series could've easily been tied. We'll see what happens in Toronto. I'LL keep you posted.

  • Avery Johnson might be a good candidate after he gets fired by the mavericks who are about to be ousted in the first round the second year in a row. I don't think its really all his fault but you gotta know major changes are coming for the mavs.
