Aside from Kobe and LeBron, Chris Paul and Dwight Howard have been the MVPs of the first round.
I mean Dwight Howard aka Superman finishing off the Raptors with a 21-point, 21-rebound Game 5, his third 20-20 game of the series. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? That's complete dominance. Peep some of his highlights here.
And MVP Chris Paul ... SMH. Dude is looking like one of the best point guards to EVER PLAY THE GAME! I think it was poetic justice that CP3 finished off the Mavs last night with a 24-point, 15-assist, 11-rebound triple double against 'Mr. Triple Dub' Jason Kidd. Maan, did CP make Kidd look old. Damn. Pick this clip up from the :52 mark. Tyson Chandler gets rejected, CP grabs rebound and hits looong fadeaway. That boy is badd.
OK, SOHH I MUST ASK: CAN CHRIS PAUL LEAD THE HORNETS TO A SECOND-ROUND WIN OVER THE SPURS? CAN DWIGHT HOWARD POWER THE MAGIC PAST THE PISTONS!?
I ain't gassed by their first-round wins, but honest to God ... I can see both the Hornets and Magic advancing. Both are young teams. The Spurs and Pistons? (In Borat voice) Ehh not SOHH much.
I guess it's one of those things, where I have to see them do it to believe it. But N.O. can run on San Antonio, even though CP vs. Tony Parker will be a lot more even than CP vs. Kidd was. Don't be surprised if that crafty bastard Pop puts BUTCH Bruce Bowen on permanent CP-harrassing duty. Still, the series is going deep. Easily six games. Charles Barkley picked N.O. to win it last night.
Moving on, the Magic-Pistons is going to be good too (Yes, I'm looking past the Sixers - Sorry Philly). There's no way in hell that Deeeetroit Basket-ball is going to allow Dwight to put up 20-20 games, but like the Hornets, the Magic got a nice lil' squad going. I think this one will go at least six too.
SOHH what are your thoughts? Holla at me, maaaan!

Before I say what I really wanna say, I gotta give CP3 his props. Tha nigga is cold....best PG to do it? Let's not get too wreckless. Nigga good, but no....Now, to answer your question, NO! The Hornets will get stomped into the ground. We ain't even seen the whole Playoff Spurs. You know they takin it to tha Lakers....Besides, SA the only ones that can finish Kobe....
Once again, like a few weeks ago, you are going to pick N.O. over the champs? R U serious? Aren't you the same person that said "WITH SHAQ, IS THIS THE SEASON THE SUNS WILL SHOCK THE SPURS" Guess not. The Spurs playoff experience should be enough to get the past the young Hornets. This is where their stop is, or rather where it ends.
Good Morning ErrOne Nasty's In This Bitch..
Like I Said Yesterday I Dont Believe That MAGIC Making It
To The 'Ship Is a UnEducated
Guess..
Sweet Dwight Howard Jones Is In A Zone That The East Wont Be Able To Match..
The Fact That Boston and Detroit Did NOT Sweep Their
Teams Is Letting U Know That
They Are Not Having The Zone That The Kobe's,Duncan's,Lebron's and Now CP3 and Howard Have, Their Stuck In Mavs Mode..
They Are Good Team All Season And Continue The Exact Way Thru The PlayOffs
There Is NO Extra Notch That They Reach During PlayOff Time..
I Now Believe It Will Be Lakers vs Magic @ The End..
What amazes me about CP3 is not that he's so good, but thats he's so good at his age. He made a quantum leap, he's playing like he's in his prime. Wait 5 years! And if you watched Sportscenter he had Stackhouse so mad bcuz they couldn't stop him. Stack looking like he gonna take his basketball and go home in the ESPN highlights!
CP3 is a beast....but i want yall to watch how Kobe get them Lakers right....Mark my words....
@ nc 80's baby says...
I agree with you CP3 is a beast. I have said it before he is the second coming of Isiah Thomas but with a little more game.
But like you said Kobe is going to have those boys right. The Lakers should be playing Utah in next round and they will beat them in 6 and then move on to beat the Spurs in 7. Who ever comes out the East the Lakers will beat in 6. Don't sleep on the fact that the longer the playoffs go on there is a likely chance that Bynum might come back as well as Ariza.
I been down with my Orlando Magic since 94 and its about time that we made some noise. Niggaz still ain't given us no Respect but we gone take it. Hell yeah, u see them lame ass Cleltics and PissedOns are getting beat by lower level teams. We gone take the East behind my nigga Dwight, Nelson, Turk, and Lewis.
I called this one. I knew if Dwight stayed dominant in the paint that our 3 point shooters would end it.
Honestly, I believe that they can get past the Pistons, because they're overrated. What have they really done LATELY. No doubt they're a dangerous team, but they play lazy basketball against teams they dont respect, I.E. the Sixers. Id rather see an old Pistons team in round 2 with Home Court than a Young Sixers Team with a something to prove. Real Talk.
I hope the Hornets keep it interesting. The Spurs just execute so well, its going to be hard. They'll need more than just Chris Paul and I dont know if he has enough tools in place to beat an all around multi chamipion like the Spurs, but I wish the Hornets all the best.
My .02
1 hunned.
TO ALL THE SUNS FAN'S I WANTED YOU GUYS TO WIN UNTIL YOU TRADED FOR THAT FAT OLD SHIT TALKING CRY BABY CENTER AND WHAT HAPPENED TO SAHQ WHEN HE SAID WHEN I GET MAD I WIN HE SUCKS HE WASN;T EVEN PLAY HARD FOR MIAMI ALSO SOME WHEN FROM THE CAVILERS NEEDS TO MAN UP AND KNOCK STEVESON OUT
Props to the hornets, but i think the spurs will beat them in 5. as for the magic, i think they'll lose to the pistons if the pistons take their heads outta their asses
this has been one of the rawest 1st rounds we seen in awhile
http://www.myspace.com/jdubbthayounghectic
I haven't been on here in a minute but I don't see those lames who were talking all of that Denver Nuggets offense shit...lol...Denver sucks,
Oh yeah...I'll say it again Chris Paul is BY FAR the best point guard in the NBA!!! And Shaq wasn't at fault for the Suns losing. It was a bum ass group effort(They gave games away), I wanted them to play the Lakers to get swept in the 1st round!!!
cp3 is the future and the present!!! but the will beat the spurs in the 2nd round. the key player will be david west, the spurs don't have an answer for that dude!!! GO HORNETS ALL DAY!!!!
LETS GO LAKERS ! HORNETS vs SPURS IS GONNA BE NICE. KB24 & COMPANY WAITING ON THE JAZZ. LEBRON PLAY TONIGHT THAT GAME IS GONNA BE UGLY WATCH FOR A BUNCH OF TECHS & EJECTIONS. KB24 & LAKERS AINT NO JOKE.
SPURS GOT THAT HANDS FULL HAHA. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT LOL
I'm have to say that Orlando is no joke..Dwight Howard is only 22 years old, this dude is a beast in the paint..3.. 20-20 games in 5 Playoff games & he wasnt far off on the other two games..He's only going to continue to get better & better..That has to be prett scary..I run with the Magic all day, even when I play NBA Live 08 and they got my niggas rated lower then most teams, I dont give a sh*t..lol..Detroit is getting old, but there still good, they will be falling off real soon though..I predict Orlando & La in The Finals..Magic in 6 or 7..Kobes a great player, but he misses way more then he makes..He averages 43 % Fg average..Jordan averaged 49.7 %..Big difference..But, the Lakers are stacked but I am running with the Magic..I hate Floppin' ass cats & no one on the Magic plays like a Bitch.
The Hornets have the potential to beat San Antonio, but they're going to need to get out in transition as much as possible. Letting the Spurs set up their half-court defense will result in the Spurs taking it in 5, 6 at the most. I look for Chris Paul's numbers to slightly drop against the Spurs since he'll have to play a bigger defensive role in guarding Tony Parker which should naturally lower his scoring totals.
As for the Magic and Pistons, I've got to start by being honest and inform everyone that I'm a big Detroit fan, so yes, this opinion is heavily biased, anyways...
I think that Orlando has grown into a very dangerous team with the addition of Rashard Lewis and the improved play of both Turkgolu(I can't spell that guy's name, sorry to all of the Magic fans) and Howard. However, the Magic's offense relies on strong three-point shooting. It's not uncommon during an Orlando game to see 30 three's attempted. If they're missing a large percentage of those three's, they'll be doing Detroit a huge favor by not forcing the Pistons to play an extended amount of inside defense. Sheed, McDyess, Maxiell, and even a little bit of Theo Ratliff should do a much better job on Dwight Howard than as did any Toronto big man.
Chauncey will win the point-gaurd match up with Nelson, and Tayshaun Prince will give Hedo some troubles. I also believe that Detroit has the better bench, but it hasn't been fully tested and is defintely capable of being exposed. I pick the Pistons in 6, but if they show up and play to their full potential, thsi isn't going past 5.
That series really depends on two things; the first and most important, will the good Detroit Pistons show up? If so, Orlando's run will end in the second round. If not, well, Pistons fans will have another long summer ahead of them.
The second factor to keep an eye on is Orlando's 3-point shooting. If they shoot a large volume of shots that is matched with a high shooting %, they stand a great chance to advance. If not, then Orlando will have a hard time getting easy baskets against Detroit.
As for the rest of the league, well.....................
The Lakers will beat the Jazz in 6, and the Celtics will finish the Cavs off in 5 (I think the Hawks embarassing them will help them in the long run...)
BTW, I noticed that Daniel Gibson has added a star to his head with a little help from an obviously metro barber, but should a guy that already has the nickname of "Boobie", really go get a fucking star cut into the side of his head!!!!!!!!????????
I'm not going to front for a second, I hate Cleveland and everything about the Cavs. They're bigs (besides Ben) would rather take charges than attempt a shot-block. Just a really pussy brand of basketball seems to be promoted over there in Cleveland. And yes, LeBron, while an incredible talent and MVP-worthy player, is a total pussy and douche bag. This is the guy that stated he wants to be "The richest athlete of all-time" and a "Muhammad Ali-like figure". Ali huh? Seems to me that Ali took a stance on social issues (Vietnam war) even though he knew it would cost him his title and primary source of income. Could you picture LeBron refusing to be endorsed by Nike because he disagrees with sweatshops and cheap labor? Nope. In fact, he went out of his way to diss Marbury's sneakers he put out that cost like $30 bucks. Dude's a great basketball player, but just an annoying and generally uneducated piece of shit.
And save any Warren Buffet or Jay-Z co-signs the guy recieves, I'm impartial to the six degrees of separation rule too many people fall victim to.
Well this would be relevant if the Pistons were advancing, but they havwe won their last game of the season. Its over for them.
first off don't predict shit on here reckless you put the suns over the spurs and barkley did too so for both of you to put the young inexperienced hornets over the champs is a disgrace it goes like this
EAST
Celtics in 6
Pistons in 6
WEST
Lakers in 5
Spurs in 6
Xsavior407, way to twist actual stats, Kobe has a career FG% of .453, not 43%. the reason Kobe has a lower career FG% than Jordan is because Jordan in his whole career only took 1778 3pointers, while Kobe already has 3192 3PA!!
Jordan's 3p%= .327
Kobe's 3p%= .340
Get off of Jordan's nuts.
Xsavior407 ur completley wrong about Kobe fieldgoal percentage he's shooting over 45% his career and close to 47% for this year and 50% in the playoffs so he makes more shots than he missess and Magic would have no chance against the Lakers
