Flashback Fridays: Jordan's game winner in UNC Days, Brown's Inexplicable Pass to Worthy & C-Webb's Timeout - Can March Madness Ever Get That Crazy Again!?

Posted on March 27, 2008 11:32 PM

Maan, I'm loving March Madness. I mean, it's arguably the best time in sports, period, and damn ... this year has been dope.

But as fun as it has been to watch, I'm still waiting for one of those classic moments to happen. I mean, don't get me wrong, Stephen Curry's heroics have been great and Ty Roger's crazy-ass buzzer beater over three Drake players was off the hook, but I wonder if we'll remember them years from now. They're great moments now, but are they eternal!?

Like, that final sequence in that UNC-Georgetown 1982 Final was some sh*t, I will never and can never forget! I mean, it's the birth of the biggest star ever in Michael Jordan, when he nails the game-winning J and then you have the Hoyas' (poor) Fred Brown, who for some strange ass reason passes to UNC's 'Big Game' James to seal the win for the Tar Heels.

You know everyone to this day still makes a huge deal out of Chris Webber's infamous (Mobb Deep) timeout, but before him, there was Brown's pass to the wrong player! Jesus!

I won't forget either of those moments. EVER. Now, I don't know why Brown threw that pass, but I can tell you that C-Webb had to be thinking, "Oh sh*t I got away with a travel, I walked" and went blank. I'm telling you!

I don't know what it is, but something tells me we're due for another game-winner and another royal f**k up!

What do y'all think!? It's about to get crazier! Watch

Your Boy,

Webber's career is finally over. Actually, it was over as soon as he called that time-out. That call was like an incurrable STD; it stayed with him forever.

UNC will be cutting down the nets April 7.

  • C-Webb had a great career, da lakers and their refs cheated him out of at least one ring and I think he is one of da greatest passing big men ever. he may had still been playin if it wasnt for da knee injury a few years ago against dallas in da playoffs. oh yeah and dem nets belong down here in UNC territory dis year.

  • Good memories even though I had to watch replays of them since I was to young at the time! Still great moments in history though & UNC will be cutting down the nets again! Been a real good tournament so far with a few surprises to but that wouldn't be enough to stop UNC!

  • the banner on the top looks like KG is being held back by Bonds's bat and if he gets closer to peyton, he'll throw the football at his face.
