SOHH, it's only right I rep for the East. And heeere we go!
What to Know about the NBA Eastern Conference:
5. The conference is weak!
If the playoffs were to start today, three teams with losing records (Wizards, Nets and Sixers) would make the cut. The Nets and Sixers are both seven games under .500. Ayo, that's kind of sh*tty right there. Only the top three squads in the East would make the cut if they were in the West.
4. Biggie once spit, "If I got to choose a coast, it's got to be the East/I live out there, so don't go there."
But that don't mean a cat can't play in the West. Maan, I was thinking where all the stars in the East have gone? To the mothaf**kin' West! Off the top of my head ... The Diesel back to the West, T-Mac, J. Kidd, A.I. If it weren't for dudes like LeBron, KG, P2, Ray Allen, Detroit's starting 5, Chris Bosh and Dwight Howard, the East would be kind of dry.
KG was a big get from the West to the East. And his wifey was an ever better get ... for him.
3. Hate to sound like a hater, but the Western Conference's first-round matchups will be more entertaining to watch than perhaps even the Eastern Conference's finals.
For real. I mean, trust, the Celtics-Pistons, Cavs-Celtics or Cavs-Pistons would be dope to watch, but all the sh*t before that ... trash! Who the f**k wants to watch the Celtics play the Sixers in a seven-game first-round series? UGGGH! I would rather see the Warriors try to pull another upset, ya dig!?
2. It's going to come down to three teams: Celtics, Pistons and Cavs.
The Magic may make things interesting, but that's about it. The other squads in the East don't have a shot. Sorry Toronto.

Yes, before y'all shoot me, listen to the kid's logic. The Celtics or Pistons - if they get a favorable matchup in the Finals - can win it all. The Pistons' off D alone could shut down a high-scoring West squad like the Mavs or Suns. I even think they could beat the Spurs. Go ahead Rasheed, plead your case big homie:

i agree with everything you said. if i wasn't a basketball junkie, i would want to watch the east either.
But i do feel the lakers are slightly overrated. that have the best record in the west and a bright future, but they are playing above their heads right now. fisher and kobe are their only 2 proven playoff commodities. Odom is unreliable and gasol has never won a playoff game and fizzles under pressure. maybe next year, but not this year. Except for deteroit, teams that make big trades usually don't win it all until the year or a few years after.
I'm still stickin with boston and the spurs. the c's are cruisin right now, but they willbe the most hungry team come playoff time. and the spurs are old, but people said the same thing last year. they just get it done and they are only 1 game out of the #1 spot out west. but i do think this is their last run unless they get some more pieces for next year

Well the east is a lil dry but still has a few good teams. I'm takin the Celts vs. Pistons. Celts to Pull it out if they stay healthy. West is still up for grabs in my opinion tho? It will be interesting.

AYo, the Pistons can definitely beat the Lakers. It would almost definitely go seven games though.

I Would Most Def Have To Say The Lakers or a Small Chance The Spurs Will COME OUT THE WEST...

If anything the WEST is up for grabs!!!The Rockets are DONE losing Yao, the Spurs is still floating around, th e Hornets are dangerous, The Suns are there, Utah, Dallas,Golden State, and yeah the Lakers. As far as the East goes its the Cavs..Z's their only inside presence, Celtics...No bench.. and Detroit..Improved bench and how did they choke? They were worn down and didnt have a reliable bench..all the starters were playing 36+ mins a game ALL SEASON...
The Lakers are not overrated they are good and its scary what they gonna look like when Bynum comes back. And as far as the Lakers not having playoff experience, Kobe and Fisher are both battle tested and hit big shots in playoff games and they gonna be ready. Look what Cleveland did last year with a bunch of guys with no playoff experience, but there aint no way in hell the Lakers gonna get swept
Lakers are mos def takin it this year. When Bynum gets back they will have almost 3 starting 7 footers,2 of which, can shoot from the outside. Then you have D-Fish whos a great point guard, can score when he needs to, and is clutch (word to the Spurs). And if that aint enough they have the best player to ever play the game in Kobe (81 points in yo mouth) Bryant. Pistons ain't shuttin down $h!t.
I'm rolling with the Pistons 4 life. I do believe the Lakers are going to be the team to beat, but they have to beat the Spurs first. Everyone counts out the Spurs, until they dismantle a west favorite. I'm looking forward to the Spurs vs Pistons II. I know it doesn't sound pretty to most, but I still believe that these 2 teams are the most balanced and can meet in the finals. I do believe that if the Lakers get Bynum back, they will definately be hard to beat, but I'm still going with the Pistons to win it all.

First off too many all-stars on a team is never a good look, and second you can't count out the the outside factors such as messed up chemistry (Kobe v Shaq) and the 'rape' case. Next the Pistons ain't even built like they were in 2004 with that defense (their d is still good tho, just not like that where they can stop the Lakers this year). Finally I'd put Odom on Sheed nuff said.
pistons would run all thru the lakers...rip STILL runs to much for kobe to hang for 48 mins (anyone remember the last time they met in the finals)..rasheed has the hardest shot to block in the NBA and once hes on hes on nobody can stop him (word to amarie)...but that would be a match up that will def. go to game 7

Its pretty much a concensus that the Suns wont make much noise. Shaq needs more conditioning. Pistons vs. Lakers probably will be the best matchup. Nobody wants to see the boring ass Spurs in the finals. True indeed they are a good team but borin ass hell. We all want to see some run and gun like the days of old. i.e. Showtime, and the Bad Boys!

Conventional thinking would to pick the Celts coming out of the East. But because of KG's nagging injuries and the lack of depth of their bench, don't be surprised to see Cleveland or Detroit come out of the East.
I don’t hate LA, I‘ve always stood by Kobe. But they have a very slow team now except for Kobe. I think they have a chance to make the conference finals but they won’t win it all. And I still think people are sleeping on the jazz.
As far as the suns go, I’m not going to judge the trade right now. Dallas will never win a championship as long as Dirk is the leader of the team.
I think Detroit and Boston are equal. Detroit may use their bench more but they don’t have a drastically better bench than the Celts.

That comes down to the Pistons and the Celtics and I think the Pistons may take it. I don't think Orlando has the experience to win the east. If either the Pistons or the Celtics get to the finals it will be a very good series.

Agree wit this one. East is so weak I done even think they can win against top college teams (Charlotte Bobcats wtf!!). Its gonna be the Celts or the Pistons in da East unless The King pulls another miracle in Cleveland but I doubt that.
