Shaq Runs Out of Diesel in Suns' First Practice, Should Phoenix Shut Him Down Till Playoffs? Can he Help Nash, Stoudemire Win a Ring?

SOHH Shaq had his very first practice with the Phoenix Suns on Monday and dude didn't even bother frontin'. HE WAS TIRED AS SH*T!
"Now I can see why they can go at the pace they play at," O'Neal told the Associated Press. "When you just do short bursts like this, then you can save it all for the game."
Ayo, I love Shaq, man. Dude's no dummy. He always says the right things. At 35-years-OLD (word to Jigga) gone are the days that Shaq's going to average nearly 30 points and 12 rebounds per game (like he did in his Lakers' championship days). Ain't happening. And the Diesel ain't even frontin like he's capable of doing that with the Suns.
"I'm no idiot. I'm not going to come in here trying to take over and take 30 shots," he continued telling the AP. "I'm going to fit in very nicely — rebound, outlet to Steve, get some easy buckets, play some defense. That's all we need to do."
BINGO!! The whole reason the Suns traded for him was to get a defensive presence in the paint, an aggressive rebounder and someone who could score easy buckets. CHUUCH! Shaq can still do that. Not as well as he used to, but good enough.
Right now the Diesel is running on cheap unleaded with an injured hip and call me crazy, but if I'm the Suns I'm resting him till the playoffs.
Why? Simple - The Suns own the best record in the West. They got weapons. Nash, Stoudemire, Barbosa, etc. Save him for the playoffs. They don't need Shaq now.
Why not bring him in a little before the playoffs to get in a rhythm or at the start of the postseason!? What do y'all think?
That and dare I ask ... Is Shaq the missing link Phoenix needed to win a championship? Will the Suns win the title running on that Diesel? I think they got a chance!

NAH, he wasnt saying he was tired in practice. The Suns have short practices compared to Pat Riley's, thus Shaqs "short burst" comment was about how they practice in high energy burst so they can run in the actual games.
I agree with dareal. it's the motherfuckin lakers this year. don't be surprised. kobe's winning another ring and finals mvp. pau to play a nice part in it all. u can take that with a whiffle ball bat, bitchessss!

Like Shaq said...he is going to fit in nicely. all the gargbage coming off the rims he got. . he is going to be a big help for the suns and might get them over the hump. He was still 6th in field goal percentage this year with 58%. any put backs are going to help the Suns and its going to allow them to spread the floor. Think of Kareem in the Old days with the 'Fast-Breakin Lakers' Kareem hardly ever went past half court, Shaq wont have to either. He will get the board and go! Land of the sun might be winning a championship...but the west is still wide open...
Ballsy cmon now. I think alot of us would be out of breath after a suns practice. Lol. But give him a break. Its his first practice and hes played a game in almost two months plus hes 35. He aint no spring chicken no mo. Give him some time and I bet Shaq will surprise alot of ppl. He tends to do certain things when he challenged....like win championships.

I think the suns was fine b4. I honestly dont see how shaq is gonna fit in with there offense i mean they run and gun alot. I personally think the mia got the better of this deal cause shawn marion is still in a good part of his career and barely gets injuried.

After the LAKERS got PAU the western conference is SHOOK! From Avery johnson's comments to Greg Popovich's comments and now with the Suns picking up Shaq it's pretty obvious that the west is SHOOK! Even though the west is dominant the LAKERS have a good chance of taking it this year!

The suns will get the title this year they should of got it last year,Shaq will play his first game after the allstar break I'm tired of hearing Shaqs to old and that the suns made a Kevin Mchale trade.First off shaqs not going to be Phoenix's 1st option or second option on offense and as good as the Matrix was he had a tendency to disappear in the playoffs because his offense easily gets shut down don't forget Shaqs averaging career lows with 15.ppg but that's what shawn was averaging this year and if shaq can give the suns 15 in the playoffs that's more then enough remember the Suns have 2 first team all nba players with S.T.A.T and 2 time mvp Steve Nash

good move by my man kerr. get rid off marion and got shaq. marion was leaving at the end of his contract anyway so might as well get something for him now. shaqs contract up in 2 years and nash is getting older. they only need shaq for when they play san antonio in the playoffs. you keep duncan out the lane u pretty much take away 10pts. gonna be fun to watch the western playoffs this year i can wait for the championships to watch the east.
