Maan, unless you're living under a rock, you know that Kobe Bryant is running things in the L right now. I think the fact that he's still 29-years-young, we forget that dude has been in the L for 11 seasons.

The Lakers are 37-17 through last night. That's tied for the fourth-best record in the entire L. Whether you love or hate the guy, you got to give him the props he deserves. My man got ice water running through his veins. He lives, sleeps, breathes and shi*s basketball. I wish I could say the same about my Knicks. They just play sh*tty basketball.

KB24 is the best player in the L right now. KB will be the nearest thing that we will ever get to see to MJ status. I am fortunate enough to have seen MJ play at the highest level ever and now I am fortunate enough to witness Kobe do his thing. That dunk on NASH was just ETHER. I remember jumping and screaming when I saw that dunk. My GF at the time just threw a pillow at me for waking her up. Im a die-hard BULLS fan and it hurts me that we couldnt make a deal with KB when he wanted to come to Chicago. If the BULLS dont win it I am rooting for the LAKERS. KB24MVP!!!

See that's what I mean we could debate this all day long because you make a very valid point. I do agree that Tim Duncan is the best PF to ever put on a pair of shoes. I also said that my list wasn't in any order and that I could keep going. But if we had to keep it to 10 then you are right Duncan is in the top 10. I also left out one other guy who was before my time but in talking to my Dad he told me that Oscar Robertson was the best Small forward ever and he one championship as well.

Boy you are a real hater. Kobe does more for his team than does KG and when it's time to take the big shot KOBE has always stepped up and delivered. KG was never able to get it done in Minnesota and they had some good teams especially when they had KG, Spreewell and Cassell. As you remember they went head to head with the Lakers that year and what happened KOBE sent they ass home. As far the Colorado incident KOBE with through the proper judicial system and was exanerated of all charges. Just like Ray Lewis in his case they were both found innocent, so why does that make you so mad. Truth be told Boston won't get past Detroit in the Finals. Don't get me wrong KG is a great player but it stops there he doesn't have what it takes to take a team all the way. He is not willing to do the little things like play on the post. He thinks he's a guard in a 7'0 foot body he has always avoided contact that's why he is always shooting jumpers and fadeaways instead of doing the dirty work on the post. If KOBE is not the MVP then it has to be Chris Paul. Learn something about basketball before you just start commenting.

You are crazy, I am a fan of KG but he is not the MVP. I will tell you why. First look at the record of the Celtics without KG. Imagine the Lakers without KB. Also, Kobe has gone to the playoffs (1-and-done though) the past 2 years and he practically did it by himself. What did Garnett do his last two years at Minnesotta? The only reason the Celtics are a better team this year is because the whole team is brand new. You can include Pierce in there also because last season he was hurt. Im sure if you switch KG & KB from each of their respective teams that the Celtics will still make the playoffs (due to the lackness of the East) but just maybe the Lakers wont make the playoffs in the west. Kobe could've easily dropped 20 a game in his 1st season...he averaged 17 off the bench with Shaq,Eddie Jones and VanExel(scoring guard) on his team. Shaq was the best player in the league next to Jordan at the time. He's way better defensively. LeBron made is to the finals because he plays in the east. The wizards all got injured, D Wade was injured and the pistons gave the Eastern finals away. It's not as hard to get triple doubles. Lebron needs to step up in the clutch,improve free throw shooting and a consistent outside shot as well as defense before he can be as great as Kobe. I'm not saying Kobe is 2nd of alltime but he's a lot closer than LeBron.

LeBron averages more points because he averages more attempts+more minutes His FG% Is lower than Kobe's as well as His 3pt% and his Free Throw%. His games are also decided by closer margins...meaning more free throws+more overtime games. Every team in the east is ass defensively. And fuck a triple double Jason Kidd leads Guards in triple doubles this season but nobody would Nash,C.Paul or Deron williams for him(J.Kidd is a beast though) Oscar Robertson averaged a triple double but he still no michael or magic. some of ya'll don't get it. Being MVP is more than just about stats. Its what you bring to your team also. Kobe is playing at his highest level ever and his team has excelled because of it. He has become a true team leader. Lebron still needs to mature in that department. Kobe should be MVP over Lebron.
Look man...There are things that LeBron nor Kobe can control that makes Kobe better. EXPERIENCE. They both had different paths with different teams and with different eras, so all that stat talkin dont mean shyt. I can say Kobe scored 81 and that would be the end of that argument cuz LeBron highest points scored isn't near that. Then teh die hard LeBron fans, or kobe haters will say triple doubles, and it will go on and on. A few of you pointed out things that don't happen consistantly, which is LeBron playing defense. LeBron has the height & quickness, but is not what I call a "premeir defender" as I would Kobe. LeBron also does not posess CONSISTANT dead eye shooting from ANYWHERE on the floor, Kobe does. LeBron does not play against power house teams(Suns, Mavs, Spurs, Jazz, Rockets, Hornets, Nuggets) all year long, he plays against trash (Bulls, Nets, Hawks, Wizards, etc.) for the MOST part.
Truth is Kobe and LeBron are two TOTALLY different players. LeBron is more like Magic with crazy athletic ability. Kobe is more like Jordan(shots, freethrows, dunks, D, will to win)...with Jordan-style jumpers, lol.
At the end of the day though, LeBron will be the best when Kobe hangs'em up, until then King James will always be second best, ya dig!?!
