Clemens' Former Trainer's a Creep, Valentine's Day: Kim Kardashian-Bush, Which Athlete Got The Hottest Wifey/Jumpoff!?

Posted on February 14, 2008 10:12 AM

Maan, ya'll know when this whole Roger Clemens' steroids-HGH scandal surfaced, I pretty much had the Rocket guilty on all levels. Now, I still think Clemens is guilty, but ayo, did you see any of ESPN's coverage yesterday?

Clemens' former trainer Brian McNamee looks and sounds like the biggest creep there is, homie! Dude looks like a cross between Egon from Ghost Busters and a serial killer. He's the living breathing Ken Kaniff from Connecticut!

Dude ... and he's already admitted to lying under oath several times. Watch dude here in this clip.

SOHH, I ask y'all can McNamee's credibility issues pave the way for Clemens to be innocent on all charges!? SPEAK ON IT!

Moving on, let me get into the spirit of Valentine's Day. Rumors are running wild that Reggie Bush has popped the question to Kim Kardashian. Ayo, imagine if they get married? It will be Kim Kardashian Bush. What a F**KABLE NAME.

kim%20k.jpg

I repeat ... KIM KARASSHIAN BUSH! That name screams ... f**k me! Ayo, let me stop talking greasy about Reggie's girl (even though Brandy's younger brother hit that) ... I don't want a problem with Reg.

Watch your man, Hugh Hef lock Kardashian down for Playboy.

Out of all athletes' wifeys/jumpoffs, I think Kim's the baddest. AM I RIGHT!? Holla. WHICH ATHLETE GOT THE HOTTEST WIFEY!? Speak on it!

  • Has Eli Manning actually gotten overrated?

It's an interesting question, originally posed by SI's Andrew Perloff, who points to Ben Roethlisberger, Brad Johnson, Trent Dilfer, and Kurt Warner as quarterbacks who won a Super Bowl with a stout defense, and then almost immediately reverted back to mediocrity.

Some quick facts that might support the "Eli is now overrated" hypothesis:

    • In the regular season, he ranked 25th in passer rating, sandwiched between Vince Young and Kyle Boller
    • Again in the regular season, he threw 20 interceptions, tied for the league lead with Jon Kitna and Carson Palmer
    • He also completed just 56.1% of his passes, which ranks him right between Trent Edwards and Cleo Lemon

But there are also things I'd point out that weaken the "Eli is overrated" argument:

    • Obviously, that bad-ass leather jacket.
    • You can throw out the Roethlisberger comparison, or better yet, use it to Eli's advantage. Yes, Large Benjamin had a down year after winning the Super Bowl, but he also nearly died in a motorcycle accident, which was probably a factor. He's also rebounded quite nicely, and I don't think anyone doubts his ability to be a very good NFL quarterback in the long-term.
    • Johnson, Dilfer, and Warner were all much older than Eli at the time of their Super Bowl wins. Eli's still learning, and certainly hasn't peaked. I don't think the same could be said of any of the other guys mentioned.
    • It wasn't just a good Super Bowl that Eli produced. His last five games this year, including the postseason, he had ten touchdowns against two interceptions and averaged a QB rating of over 100. He played well over an extended period of time.

Is Eli going to perform as well throughout the entire 2008/2009 season as he did in this year's playoffs? Probably not. Eli's not done growing as a quarterback, and he's not done having bad games. But I also don't see any reason to think that his last five games this year were a fluke, either.

Overrated? I guess it depends on where you're rating him. If you're sticking him in the elite group with Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, then yes, you're overrating him, and you should stop freebasing immediately. But I think there's definitely room to squeeze him into the sub- grouping that includes Tony Romo, Ben Roethlisberger, Carson Palmer, Drew Brees, etc.

They are ready and poised to when the championship this year. Everybody looks at the Pau Gasol deal and that was great. Also you look at when Bynum comes back we will surely be more of a force. But the key that knowone is talking about is Lamar Odom playing at his natural position now which is Small Foward. As you see last night he had a Triple Double. He can now play on the wing and dosen't have to bang down low all game now which takes a lot of energy.

  • ***NOTE: This is a response to a topic a while back (somewhere around the end of November) questioning whether the Knicks were the worst team in the league. I typed out a response and saved it because the comments weren't working, and I just stumbled across it, so bear with me, I know it's off-topic.***

If you're asking whether the Knicks are the worst franchise in the NBA in terms of being a current sideshow and loser, then yeah. But overall, Atlanta is still the worst franchise. Not only are they bad (although not as bad this year as they have been), but they have no history. And those two things usually equal no fansbase or an uncaring one.

As for worst franchise in sports, the Knicks don't qualify, because they have history. The Hawks qualify. I'd nominate the Orioles, as a fan who has watched his team decline over the last decade to the point where everyone is overpaid and on steroids, and we still end up in 4th place every damn year.

If the Dolphins ran the table (in the wrong direction), they would have been in there. The only thing saving them right now is that one game and their OTHER perfect season. Staying in Florida, the Devil Rays kinda qualify, but they've only been around for a decade, what do you expect.

Going out to the NFC West, Arizona is probably my #1 pick for worst franchise, as they have never done ANYTHING. I mean NOTHING. San Fran is on their way to undoing the greatest legacy in the NFL (no offense to the Packers and Steelers), but I think 5 rings will hold them up for a long time.

Also in the NFC, the Saints are a viable name to throw out there, but I don't know, they fly under the radar most of the time, you don't know whether they're good or bad, you just don't hear about them (pre-Bush era, at least). The AFC is cool for the most part.

Back to the NBA, Minnesota is garbage AND wasted over half of KGs career, throw them in there. The Clippers are always a decent name to throw in the worst franchise mix. They have flashes of good stuff in between a whole existence of being overshadowed by the REAL L.A. Memphis and Charlotte are really too new to throw in there.

Back to baseball, the Royals qualify. The Milwaukee Brewers newfound success is the only thing that saves them. The Pirates suck, but the same thing I said about the Saints you could say about Pittsburgh.

Moving to the NL East, the ONLY thing saving the Marlins is that they have more titles than my other team (Philadelphia), and a few others, in a much shorter time period. But I watched an Orioles / Marlins game last year with only 400 people in the stands. (And no, I'm not exaggerating. And there were only about 200 by the end of the game.) If it weren't for Washington, Florida would definitely be my pick. If you trace the Nationals back from D.C. to Montreal, they probably have a stranglehold on baseball's worst franchise. Everytime they get competitive, not even good but competitive, they implode themselves and trade away anyone about to get paid more than a couple million. But the new ownership, new city, and new fans seems to have at least made the future seem brighter, so we'll see.

Sorry for the long-windedness. Overall, I'd say the Arizona Cardinals have a slight edge over everyone else.
