Brett Favre Co-Signs on Giants Against Patriots: Eli and Giants Can Win!, Eddie Murphy Knew The G-Men Would Beat The Pack!

Posted on January 22, 2008 9:37 AM

Ayo, what up world!?

OK, I'm finally calming down after the Giants' big win Sunday night. Well, NOT REALLY! Haha.

But I came across something pretty interesting yesterday. Brett Favre - who helped the Giants get to the Super Bowl by throwing that gift of an interception in overtime Sunday - believes Eli Manning and the Giants can upset the Patriots!

"Heck, they could win two weeks from now," Favre told the Associated Press. "I wouldn't put it past them."

OK, SOHH that's not an official, official co-sign, but it's something to be considered. The other part of that is Favre - in addition to being a first-ballot Hall of Famer - is a gracious, all-around good guy, so we knew he was going to respect the G-Men for ... ENDING HIS SEASON!

Maybe Eli says it better:

"It's just a matter of getting hot at the right time," Manning told the AP. "It feels good because this is what you work for. We stuck with it, we believed in ourselves and we got to the Super Bowl."

Yes, the Giants are the major underdog. That's definite. But for what it's worth, the Giants are waay hotter rolling into the Super Bowl than the Patriots. The Pats didn't definitively beat down on a beat-down Chargers squad. Ya diiig?

SOHH, I ask y'all ... does a hot streak factor into this Super Bowl? Yes, the Patriots are 18-0, but haven't the Giants been playing better entering the show?
Who's Winning? Speak on it ... some more!

Eddie Murphy predicts Giants-Packers NFC title game 20 years ago! Ha!

  • Giants gave them a run for their money on the last game of the season. Pats couldn't beat up on the Chargers. All streaks come to an end. Giants are hot right now. Brady is "hurt". Could be a trick, letting us know that Belichet may be a little scaried. Giants by slim margin.

Patriots don’t have Mike McCarthy on the Sidelines; they have the asshole BB, who resigned from the Jets after one day.
In Green Bay, its Favre way, in NE its BB way. BB will never let the patriots act silly like McCarthy did. Yea Favre is the man, but he lost the game, you cant throw upchucks on a fuckin Divisional playoffs. Ask Jim Mora about it…He will say PLAYOFFS? PLAYOFFS?
Blame McCarthy for letting Favre act silly,
Blame Grant for not Eli-manning it up to pound the ball.
Its all fucked up now! What am I do now? Huh?

  • Ok. Lets all admit there are alot of Patriots haters out there. Why? Cause people hate perfection. I know alot of NY cats and that whole tri-state area wanna something to bring NY back to the forefront of things, but the Giants ain't that Glory. Trust... NY fall back and wait for an emcee to do that. That will happen before a football teams give them that Glory. No pun intended, but lets face facts and statistics.....

  • Tom "after games I get to go to New York and fuck a model" Brady says...
  • Brett also thought that the Pack would beat the Giants....lol His prediction doesn't mean shit....lol

Eddie Murphy doesn't like football nor men, so he really doesn't matter!

It boils down to this. The NFC is garbage and has been for the last 7 years. The Giants play in the NFC and has a Manning at the QB position. They have the ingredients for a loss. As we all know Plexico used to be a Steeler and he was ineffective in almost every game he played in his short stint as a Steeler against the Pats. The brace on Tom's foot doesn't really matter because he usually has about 2 mins to pick a receiver behind the offensive line.

Experience beats a "hot team at the right time" every time! The Giants are a great team.....by NFC standards. They won 10 consecutive games but to the likes of these bums (Atlanta, Miami, Detroit, Chicago, and Buffalo) Hardly a case of them beating a team that wiped the floor with the entire fucking NFL...lol

Yall remember what happened to the G-Men in the '01 Super Bowl. They lost to a team (Ravens) with zero fucking offense. Trent fucking Dilfer beat the Giants....lol Thank God you don't have Kerry Collins still on the roster.

The Giants and K1ng of N3w York (you've never been to brooklyn in your life baby jewelry) suck ass.....lol

    BOSTON!!!!

Love New York, but I despise the Giants!!!

  • January 22, 2008 12:42 PM
  • Randy " I will slap a bitch on a bye week, catch one pass and still watch my team win" Moss says...
  • He hurt his foot kicking Giants fans in the ass at LaGuardia....lol

The Giants will not win! Everyone knows any AFC team will kill any team the NFC has to offer!

Bloggers need to stop making this a Boston vs. NY thing.

Real niggaz could care less! Only the media gives a shit about garbage like that.

  • Since I realize most of you people never actually played football, and everything u know about football comes from Madden 08 and Sportscenter, I'll make this very basic. Football seems very complex and intricate, but it is simple in nature: the team that blocks and tackles the best wins. 100% of the time. Without exception. Every football game ever played has been won or lost at the line of scrimmage. New England's offensive line was dominated in pass blocking situations on sunday. Brady was hit at least 10 times, was forced into 3 interceptions and injured his foot. New York has the best pass rush in the NFL, but New England will probably be able to line up and run right at them. The giants o line has played so so in the playoffs, but if they can keep Manning from getting knocked down, the Pats cornerbacks are food, & Plaxico will be the Superbowl MVP. NY has a very real shot at winning this game. It comes down to stopping the Pats run game, keeping Eli off his ass and COUGHLIN CANNOT BE AFRAID TO TAkE CHANCES. When in doubt, go for it. The red zone has to be 4-down territory. Do whatever u have to do to keep Brady on the sidelines. If San Diego had done this, they'd be preparing for the SuperBowl now. I like NY in a close physical game......27-24.

They definitely have what it takes to beat the Pats and are playing better now...I think the spread opened with the Pats favorite by 13.5.....IF the Pats win it's going to be much closer..either way Im pullin for a Giants win....Prediction: Giants 31 Pats 28

  • SOHH had its own pedophile army

I don’t even mess around with MySpace too often these days, just because it’s become so overrun with spammers and shitty rappers. But if I get really bored, I might spend a few hours clicking through my pages of so-called friends just to pass the time. And I’ll admit: Every once in a while I’ll come across the profile of a broad who may or may not be 18 years old, but damn it if she isn’t built like she is anyway!

Then I’ll close that window and find some other way to bide my time. Because looking at pictures of underage girls on the Internets is just wrong.

Also, profiles of girls under a certain age are set to private by default, in an attempt to thwart the efforts of any sexual predators who might be lurking about the social networking site. If a girl who was, say, 15, wanted whatever hotness is going on in her photo album to be accessible by any ol’ perv on the Internets, she’d probably have to lie and say she was 18 - though I’m not sure if that defense would stand up in court. (I’ll let someone else try it first.)

Because I’m both dumb and lazy not trying to go to jail, it never occurred to me that there might be some way around this. Apparently there is though. If you click on the photo link on a profile that’s set to private, you’ll get some message along the lines of, “This profile is set to private. You have to be added as this person’s friend to view it.” But a lot of people who set their profiles to private don’t bother to also set their photo albums to private as well. So with a little rudimentary haX0ring, you can still use the person’s URL to access their pictures.

A few months ago, some poor bastard with more dedication and (perhaps) more technical savvy than yours truly figured this out. Since then, an entire cottage industry has sprung up to help guys who’ve got the house to themselves for the evening access the pictures on profiles set to private. Supposedly, there’s now a whole slew of ad-supported websites you can go to, type in the URL of a private MySpace profile, and have access to all of their pictures.

A story on WIRED the other day, which is where I read about this, didn’t bother to provide any links to said website, perhaps because it would be in violation of their acceptable use policy. And I’ll have to ask: If you know the URLs to any of these sites, please don’t post them in the comments section. Lord knows I don’t need the temptation.

I did find it hilarious though that one of the main sources quoted in the article, in order to prove that there really are such sick bastards out there on the Internets, was a message board from a hip-hop site, SOHH, which apparently had its own pedophile army.

    To wit:

The photo-gallery backdoor has been discussed on message boards for at least three months. In an October post on the music-oriented forum sohh.com, a user asked a contingent of self-described “pedos” for help in accessing the photos of a 16-year-old girl who caught his eye online. “I got a mission for all you pedo soldiers,” he wrote, explaining that the girl’s profile was private.

    Damn.

And wouldn’t you know, there was someone else on SOHH who was more than eager to lend his services.

“I can get them. I know a way around it,” another forum member responded. Minutes later, he posted direct links to 43 photos of the girl. By request, he posted links the next day for another 12 photos, belonging to a 15-year-old girl whose profile is also private. Sohh.com later banned a number of users who called themselves a “pedo army,” for posting MySpace photo links for underage girls.

Ah, the virtues of a strong community!

A few things I should note:

First of all, no one’s accusing the good people at SOHH of condoning or purposely facilitating the exchange of such material. When you run a website where anyone and everyone can sign up, obviously you run the risk of some shit like that happening. And as the story says, they’ve since taken steps to rid the site of the Pedo Army.

Also, this site has its own message board, though I’m not sure how often anyone ever uses it. I didn’t bother to check, but it could very well be the case that XXL has its own pedophile army. If so, here’s hoping the TIs at Harris are as adamant about deleting offensive material from the message boards as they are from the blogs. I could fuck around and get kicked out of my apartment just by association.

Finally, I think I speak for us all when I say that it would be nice (convenient, even) if TPAR would enlighten us to the legal ramifications of this. For example, I’m not concerned with accessing the photos of anyone who’s under 18 - because I was raised in the church to only do things that are right. But let’s say I knew of a broad in her 20s with ridonkulously impressive cans, whose profile is set to private probably because she’s tired of people staring at them. Would it be illegal for me to access those pictures anyway?

    *waits patiently*

  • The Giants beat the Cowboys who always seem to choke in the playoffs and straight up stink. Overrated in my opinion. And then they beat the youngest team in football, the Packers, to advance to the Super Bowl. I'm not convinced. The Patriots are definitely on a more impressive streak, think about it. 18-0. Regardless of how they looked against the Chargers, every team they play is bring their A+ game and the Pats have met every challenge. The Chargers were banged up on offense, not defense. They have one of the better defenses in the league and the Pats offense handled them. And LT has no heart. He's a punk. Turner is a better back. Phillip Rivers played with a torn ACL and no one knew. So I don't want to hear excuses about SD not being healthy. There are players hurt on the Patriots as well. Bump the Giants. They get smoked in Super Bowl XLII

  • You can talk shit about Eli if u want, and he has been shakey throughout bis career. But I want u to tell me what quarterback has played better in the playoffs. 3 road playoff wins with no interceptions. Eli has grown up in these playoffs. That's not necessarily to say NY will win, because New England is so prodessional and so solid at every spot (except cornerback), that is hard to pick against them in any game. But realisticly, they have not looked sharp in this year's playoffs. The key for the Giants will be stopping Maroney. If NY can make the Patriots throw the ball, the Giants pass rush will change the game and give NY a shot to pull it off. But if they can't stop the run and keep New England from chewing up clock, its a done dada.
