I don't know if y'all peeped this, but just hours after Michael Vick was sentenced to 23 months in prison on Monday, the Atlanta Falcons' owner Arthur Blank appeared live on Monday Night Football.
There, he spoke about actually not ruling out Vick's return in Atlanta. But then, after that he got stupid, saying:
"If he doesn't watch himself, he could eat a lot of fried chicken and fries in prison, come out at 250 pounds, he's not going to be the same athlete he was."
Wow. Yea, I'm sure Mike Vick is going to be doing nothing but eating some KFC. Not reading a book, no working out...Where's the fried chicken? Come on, Mr. Blank!
If you're an NFL owner, you're worth a lot...and you still let that fly out your mouth!? Forget that...what made that thought run past your mind?

Aw man, please don't put a racist spin on this. There's been enough racist spins on this story since it broke. Fried chicken is fattening and unhealthy; we black people all know that. He's just saying that it will be hard for Michael to stay in NFL shape while he's locked up. I don't know, all the prison documentaries I see on the National Geographic channel show the guys coming out of there built like bulldozers. Im from Atlanta, and I watched the game and heard the comment. I actually didnt think the comment was racist. He just meant that Vick didnt need to eat all that unhealthy food if he wants to stay in pro football shape. Arthur Blank is anything but racist, he hands out college scholarships like candy to inner city students here in Atlanta. There were 6 students from my high school alone ( B.T. Washington High- BULLDOG PRIDE) that he paid all four years of college for. And that was personally, not on behalf of him out of the Home Depot checking account, the money came right out of his own pocket. He sponsers the dream jamboree every year whch s where APS (atlanta public schools) students go to fgure out what the hell they want to do after they graduate. So no I do not think that Mr. Blank is racist, just think he could have chosen his words better. He could have also been drunk, whch is not uncommon for someone sitting on the sidelines or up in the booth. Just ask JOhn Madden, that fat fuccer gets loaded every MOnday, you can hear it in his voce as the game goes along
From a health stand point he is very right because if he eats those things while in prison he could get out of shape and ruin his chances in the NFL. I really think that he was guinuine with what he said....using his football wording wasn't politically correct but he was super right. If anything he didn't through out the option of Vick coming back so..........I say no.

I can't understand this constant defensive posture of the black people on this blog. I'm latino and I watched the game and interview and I did think "hmm bad choice of words" but it' snot like he said "fried chicken, watermelon and grape soda". Vick needs to maintain a healthy diet in order to stay in some type of shape. He can't do it in jail by lifting wieghts, it's alot of cadio that his position uses, which i don't think he' ll get to do in jail.
Vick and the falcons owner have a great relationship, do your research....besides this "racist" owner gave Vick a contract that EVERYONE , black/white/green w/e thought was too much....

Arthur Blanck seems like a good dude, he treated Vick like a son and gave him the largest contract in NFL history at the time it was signed despite people telling him not to do so. I understand you have to be careful of what you say when your on TV in front of the world but let's not cry wolf here people. There will be some legitimate reason to be upset in about a week or two, this is the US after all.
Also Blanck treated Vick like a son until Vick lied to his face, repeatedly...Had Vick been honest his dumbass wouldn't be in prison right now. Blanck asked Vick if he had anything to do with the dog fighting and Vick told a bold face lie, how could Blanck accept that...
