Ayo, what's good?
Yesterday afternoon I jumped on a conference call with Ricky Hatton for his upcoming Dec. 8 fight with Floyd 'Pretty Boy' Mayweather.
I must say, we all know Mayweather for being as entertaining with his words as he is with his actual hands. Well, listening to Hatton speak is almost as entertaining. With a thick English accent, everything the Hitman says begins with Me. "Me training," "me power," "me last fight," "me money"....la la la la...wait till i get my money right! Haha. But I'll get back to that in a minute.
The conference call kicked off with Oscar De La Hoya.
He told several media outlets tuning in that Ricky is looking in the best shape he's ever been in and then he said:
"A lot of people are going to be losing a lot of money in Vegas."Of course that's in reference to Vegas oddsmakers labeling Mayweather as the favorite heading into the bout.
Anyway, Hatton jumped on the call and I like how he got down:
"Every fighter says the same thing. they're the best champion alive. Rest assured I'm in the best shape of me life and i'm looking forward to shocking the world."
Later he commented on Floyd's hands. The HBO series 24-7 has shown Floyd receiving treatment for his hands. Hatton said if Mayweather loses, he better not make the excuse about his hands.
"It's common knowledge Floyd has bad hands. I hope Floyd doesn't blame it on his hands."
Hatton on what the victory would mean:
"It would mean everything being the world champion. It would be the biggest win in British boxing history."
Hatton also said he wouldn't give "two shit if everybody picked Mayweather."
Also, what was brought up was the initial meeting between the two fighters. Back during the Hopkins-Taylor fight, Hatton walked over to Mayweather and extended his hand, but Floyd didn't shake Hatton's hand.
"He wouldn't shake my hand. Like Floyd dismiss me. I didn't lose a wink of f**king sleep over it, honestly. That's just Floyd. I would hate to say he got beat because of his hands. I think he's an insecure person. That's why he surrounds himself with five or six bodyguards...and they're all yes men."
The Brits are gully, son! Didn't Ja Rule dismiss 50 like that!? And we all know how that ended up. Ja trying to hang onto his career and Irv Gotti airing out his dirty laundry on VH1. Ouch.
Floyd better watch out. Hatton ain't for play. Speed kills and if Floyd can use his speed to pump the jab and stay outside, he could very well wind up winning on points. But listen...Floyd ain't knocking out this dude. If Hatton keeps moving forward, we might see Floyd hit the canvas...and hard.

Good article bro. But I just don't see how Hatton can beat Floyd unless he catches Floyd with a clean head shot or body shot and I do not see that happening. Floyd is just to quick and too skilled.

Hatton is a touhg guy,and a good fighter,but he has never faught a boxer that is as quick or that uses the whole ring like Floyd.You cant hit, or block what you cant see.Floyd wins no K.O but he wins.

Ricky Hatton has two ways he can win this fight: Floyd injures a hand, or the referee allows Hatton to elbow, hold, foul, butt and do all that dirty shit he gets away with when he fights in Manchester. if neither one of these things happens, he will be outclassed and beaten up in a one-sided, boring fight. The highlights of Hatton's resume are Tzu & Castillo, both of whom were on the decline. Hatton has fought at 147 lbs only once, and he looked slow and uncomfortable carrying the weight, and he got tired. He was given a gift decision in that fight against Collazo. If he runs out of gas against Floyd he'll get the Gatti treatment (Arturo, not Irv).

Floyd is going to Arturo Gotti this motherf***er! The only way that Floyd loses this fight is if the ref/HBO pulls a SLOW 10 count out of his ass or refuses to stop the fight when Hatton is obviously done!!! So Ricky Hatton , white guy, british with 43 wins.....and NO ONE with a name fights him....Are you all stupid enough to think RIcky Hatton was ducking people? It's well known that alot of boxers duck Ricky because he FIGHTS. He doesn't duck and "lean back" like Floyd. Floyd is a joke...he has fought alot of "names" towards the end of thier careers. De La Hoya, Judah, Badillo and Corrales ...there's more. However, Miguel Cotto and Hatton are 2 names Floyd always avoided..hmm wonder why.

This is going to be one for the ages, Hatton is a hard puncher who doesn't scare, PBF can't dance all night. Hatton is going to catch Floyd and then we will see what Floyd's chin is like.
If I was a betting man I wouldn't bet on this one because it's too close to call. Hatton could either knock Floyd out or spend all day chasing Floyd while eating a bunch of jabs in the process. It's going to be a good one though, they are the two best fighters pound for pound in the game today.

Ricky hasn't looked that great in his last few fights excluding his knockout of an old castillo. All he has been doing is holding and hitting. That being said, I still think this will be a great fight and has the potential to be the best of the year.
When Hatton moved up to 147 for the Collazo fight, he got his ass whipped and the judges gave him the fight anyway. PBF is gonna kill this little a$4 cracker.
