We Major Wednesdays: Kobe Ballin in The Chi?

Let me state the obvious: From the day Kobe Bryant stepped foot in the L, he’s been jocking Michael Jordan’s style… the way all these young rappers jock Hov’s.

I mean literally every step of the way Kobe has tried to mirror MJ’s style. Dude studied Jordan’s interviews and even changed his jersey number ala his Airness.

So, with the NBA season about to tip-off (Oct. 30), and Kobe already voicing his displeasure with the Lakers, a trade is inevitable.

Why trade the best player in L? The Lakers have no fucking choice. Dude’s going to leave the summer of his free agency, regardless, so the Lakers have to get something from him.

Here’s the thing â€" to get Kobe, the Bulls have to give up either Ben Gordon or Luol Deng. If the Bulls package Deng with a couple draft picks, Bryant is theirs. I’m seeerious. That would complete Kobe’s wet dream of following in Jordan’s footsteps more than banging out a hotel clerk on a bathroom mat ever did, son!

As Nas told Kobe:

“Yo, you can't do better than that...the hotel clerk who adjust the bathroom mat?”

But I digress. Playing in the Chi after Jordan is what Kobe always wanted to do, even though he fronts like those are too big of shoes to fill. Not the first time Kobe fronted. He once said something to the effect that tattoos are disgusting. Now, he got some Mickey Mouse joints inked all over his arm and ice in his ear. Yeaa, Kobe’s a tough guy now! The man wants to dominate in Jordan’s city and may get that chance.

Kobe fans – I know I’m thrashing your man, but I ain’t stupid. Bryant’s the best player in the world. He ain’t no Jordan – until he can carry a bunch of bums – but he’s the best the NBA got. Sorry LeBron, Dwyane and Gilbert (going to be iller than ever this season). As long as he’s doing sh*t like this, Kobe’s styling on you! It will be interesting to see how his possible trade pans out.

Kobe Bryant is so whiny, he got a decent situation in L.A., he built his career there, even if he gets traded somewhere, the bulls roster will not be enough to take him to another championship. Kobe needs to realize that L.A is the only place where the front office is going to let him make whatever decisions he wants to make and he has free will to do whatever. He needs to take advantage of the situation and stick it out until his free agency. He won't win another championship in two years no matter who's team he is on so its worth just keeping his mouth shut and waiting 4 the perfect opportunity to get the fuck outta L.A.

FIrst of all, Scottie Pipper was no bum. He was named to first all-defensive team more than three times and Sir Charles even stated that "Pippen is the best player in the NBA, but Jordan is the best player in the world". The Bulls did not win with a bunch of bums. Dennis Rodman averaged over 9 rebounds per game and was a good defender. Toni Kukoc was a good spot up shooter.

It could DEFINETLY be a problem if Kobe goes to the Bulls. But until the Spurs are ready to give up the title...they not gonna be able to do much better than 2nd best.

Yo kobe is not better than mj.basketball is a team sport and mj was the best player in the league on the best team. Kobe lacks leadership and that's what stops him. Pippen was great but it took mj being a good leader to help him further develop his game. Kobe asked for the situation he is in right now let's not forget. He wanted to carry a team, and now that he sees how hard it is and he sees lebron and d wades instant success he is bitter. That's weak. I still love watching him play. I know he is gonna put up 40 exciting points, but at the end of the game I expect his team to lose bcuz he is not a team player. Kobe gets the stats and team loses cuz kobe want to make sure the world knows he is nice. But we always knew that. Look at lebron he got a ways to go but he gets the concept which is let my teammates get some shine and me being the leader I know I will get mines. Yo my man, I know you may not like baseball and all, but can I get some coverage of Game 1 and the way Boston spanked the PANTS off the Colorado Rookies tonight? (And no, I didn't misspell Rockies)
I mean, you may not like it and all but it IS still a sport, and some of us (yes, even black folk) enjoy a good game every now and then (I usually catch a couple live games every year, and follow my teams on tv when I can).
So this being a sports blog and all, can you at least live through the week or so baseball has left, then you have the whole fall and winter to cover all the football and basketball you like, deal?

All the little kids can talk about Kobe this Kobe that, but MJ is the originator he is the one nobody before or after. You can talk about stats all you want(eventhought they are on MJ's side) but nobody has played the game as beautifully as Jordan, his game was flawless. Jordan is the standard by which all other great athletes not just b-ball are measured. Until I here Kobe universally thought of like that dont even compare him to MJ.
