Happy Belated Birthday to Stevie Wonder, who turned 59 this Wednesday, May 13th. I saved this one for the end of the week because I knew I'd have a Stevie mix to give you this Friday.
If you're itching to see Stevie live, he is scheduled to open this year's Montreal Jazz Festival with a free performance on June 30th, according to globeandmail.com:
Wonder will open the Montreal International Jazz Festival with a free outdoor show at the city's new Place des Festivals, festival organizers said on Monday. The concert will be Wonder's first appearance at the annual jazz bash, whose 30th edition runs through July 12.
Tony Bennett, Dave Brubeck, Joe Cocker, Al Jarreau, Wynton and Branford Marsalis and Jamie Cullum are among the many talented artists also performing. While the festival plans a special tribute to Miles Davis to mark the 50th anniversary of the classic album Kind of Blue. If you are in or near the area or open to traveling to Montreal I encourage you to go!
