All this time I thought it was the Tricky Stewart beats and clever songwriting that had made The-Dream so popular.  But it turns out that silly hyphen in his name might actually have something to do with it.

You see, without the hyphen, "The Dream" would have been almost impossible to find on Google or iTunes or YouTube before he got famous. In fact, unless you have a fairly distinctive (at least in English-speaking parts of the world) name like I do, this can be a common challenge. But I posit that the hyphenation of his name made him unique enough to be easily discoverable even before he had hit songs. Simply showing up when people are searching for music or videos is a pretty important part of getting your name out there if you want to be a big star.

"I will say it because the information has been leaked. Me and Jay-Z will be doing a 10-city tour run together! More details coming soon! [sic]" Ciara revealed on Twitter Monday night.

"We were just trying to do some fun, playful things, just to give the record and the video another edge." Ciara explains to the New York Post. "We freestyled a bit, said we were going to try a few things."

"After a while, we're doing it [licking]again and again. Now I feel awkward when people say, "What did his ear taste like?"
