Amerie is getting folks excited about her new outing on Def Jam. A new song "Why R U" hit the net this week and I'm eager to hear your thoughts on it.

What do you think? Personally I love it. It's everything I liked about Amerie to begin with and it has a very '90's sound, kinda reminiscent of when Mary J. Blige first came out. Amerie's fourth studio album In Love and War is set to be released this Summer on Island Def Jam. A video for the new single is scheduled to be shot in Los Angeles by Ray Kay later this week.

Novel heard how much I like his new Dallas Austin produced single "F*%k With My Mind" so he sent it to me! And of course I'm sharing it with you.

What do you think of it? It's beautiful right, but sad as hell. We all know love gets ill.

I also wanted to put y'all up on singer Brittany Bosco who has a strong buzz in L.A. and Atlanta right now. She's planning to re-release her album Spectrum very soon and her camp sent me this teaser for her video "Black &White"

I wanted y'all to hear more of Brittany as well so I'm posting her singing "Blues for Blue"

Are you guys feeling Brittany? For more info on her visit www.myspace.com/brittanybosco!

Last but not least, one of my SOHH Soulful readers in Houston sent me a song performed by his group Sentury called "If It Was Me". The song is getting some radio play in cities including Boston, Hartford and Houston and my homie DJ Noodles even produced a remix for it. I'll let you listen and tell me what you think.

What do you think about the music? What new songs and artists do you think I should post on next? Hit me here or email me at sohh.soulrebel@gmail.com.

Luv Amerie and anything she does. I can't wait for her new cd. I keep all of her cd's on constant rotation.

Brittany Bosco......

Look, It's like this...And I'm just gonna keep it 100 as always..First of all, she's hurt in the physical appearance department...In my opinion, appearance shouldn't have to do with shit, your talent should speak for itself, but this is not a perfect world & in today's music industry when relating to female R&B artisty, if your not sexy, fine, beautiful so to speak, it aint gonna cut it...
Just look at all the chicks who are beautiful (ie: Ashanti, Mya, Kelly Rowland) and don't get no airplay...Now, this chick wanna jump in the game at a time where the top R&B artist are all fine and can kind of hold their own...
2nd...SIGHHHHHHHH!!!!! Yeah Jazz & R&B are cool, but this is a new age and a new day...Don't get me wrong, I respect Jazz & Blues cause if it weren't for Jazz & Blues, there would be no Rhythm&Blues (hence R&B) today..
But Real Talk, her music is semi-sultry and unless I just go divorced, found out that I have a chronic disease and don't have long to live, or a fucking rainy day, I don't wanna hear that bullshit..
I commend her for stepping out of the status quo of today's artist & watered down music & doing something not new but her way of showing props and doing music the way that she likes, or was brought up, but honestly I don't see too many people under the age of 40 wanting to hear this type of music. They may be interested and might say "Oooh, this is very eclictic for my taste" but that is going to be a very small minority.

I do wish her luck...She got a helluva name though...In this business you need a name that will stand out on it's own....

I have to cosign with Clo on Brittany's song. I actually only made it through about 23 seconds of the song. She has a good voice, but I'm just not feeling the vibe. She will appeal to the Jazz heads and that is about it. Why not do jazz 2009 style? Update it a bit.

I did like Sentury's song though. It is your typical male R&B vocal and song, but it was cool.

Not an Amerie fan. Has her voice always sounded so raw?

Ok I"m sorry Clo-Fresh but making that three paragraph nonsense for a 2:26 song is straight up stupid and also belitting to people under 40 years old who listen to music. You have a mind of an ignorant A&R man who picks aritsts for the wrong reason. And we wonder why people download or go looking for indepdendent artists in the first place? The fact you couldn't enjoy the song in itself and go all too analytical shows how dumb the internet is becoming. I love black music next to the next audiophile but come on people it ain't that deep. You just got to enjoy it!!!

Clo-fresh & BC - Try checking out her Spectrum EP or simply typing in her name on Youtube before you say you don't wanna hear "that bullshit" and write her off as just appealing to the "jazz heads." She'll never be mainstream, but to her credit she's not one-dimensional either.
