The Return of Lauryn Hill, Singer to Headline European Festivals

Lauryn Hill has pretty much been a recluse since the late nineties -- making only the briefest of appearances, like her MTV Unplugged acoustic set, which found her in tears -- a short Fugees reunion for Dave Chappelle's "Block Party", a free concert in Brooklyn and the odd Martha Stewart - book signing in New Jersey -- so if you live in Stockholm or Switzerland you're in luck, because you just might see and hear her this Summer.
According to Rollingstone.com Lauryn will headline the Stockholm Jazz Festival this summer July 15-19th. Sonny Rollins and Brazilian singer Gilberto Gil are also part of the Stockholm lineup. The festival has previously featured artists including Mary J. Blige, Sting, Stevie Wonder, Ella Fitzgerald and Dizzy Gillespie. Hill also headlined the Stockholm Jazz Festival in 2005. Sweden won't be the only European stop for Lauryn. Hill previously booked a date at Switzerland's Montreux Jazz Festival for July 11th, and according to the AP, an organizer for the Stockholm fest says Hill will in fact perform 10 shows in Europe this summer.
My question is -- will we ever see the happy smiling Lauryn again? Or will she arrive in Europe looking like she did in New York a few years ago?

Since we're talking about musical recluses anyway, I may as well report that Michael Jackson has started rehearsals for his 50-date London "This Is It" tour. Much like Lauryn, the public doesn't seem to have a lot of faith in MJ returning in top form -- or possibly returning at all. In a recent story about the tour, Hollywood media outlet The Wrap speculated that Michael's health and the rigors of a 50 date performance schedule, along with his lack of prep time might not bode well for the musical icon.
"Healthwise, he has deteriorated," Stacy Brown, the author of "Michael Jackson; The Man Behind the Mask told TheWrap. "Last July, he was photographed being pushed around in a wheelchair in Las Vegas. What I think you'll see is that it will be postponed for some excuse, that 'he'll be back next week,' and next week will never come."
The story wasn't one-sided, there were folks in Mike's camp who are confident that he'll pull through for the fans.
"He is fine and in great shape and is healthy and rehearsing in Los Angeles," said friend and business associate Gary Pudney, executive producer of the World Music Awards, where Jackson made one of his rare public appearances in 2006.
But despite what Pudney said -- the fact is that Michael is extremely thin, an estimated 135 lbs, he hasn't trained like Madonna and his pain medication has a good chance of tiring him out. So will 50-year-old Michael beat the odds? Considering that what's at stake could help both his finances and reputation Michael better hope so.
Michael's tour begins July 8, at London's 02 Arena. Rumor has it that the show will include a jungle with elephants, monkeys and parrots, a high-wire act with Jackson performing like an airborne Peter Pan and a duet with his 12-year-old son Prince. He's already sold 750,000 tickets within a matter of days and if he completes the tour -- Jackson could make an estimated $225 million, not including merchandising!
I have a friend in the U.S. who scheduled a trip to London just to see this tour. Would you schedule a European vacay to see a reclusive singer like Lauryn or MJ perform? Talk to me y'all!

I would say, in the words of Mr. Wong from Norbit, "Hell to the no"!! I might wanna see Lauryn in concert but not Mike! I'm straight on that guy! I'm sure Lauryn can still do her thang when she puts some effort into it but Mike is old and his health is deteriorating! Hang it up my nig, ur still the greatest!!
I tried to get tickets to go but they were all sold out by time I looked. I was so planning a mini vacation just to see MJ perform. I know he's not gonna be in the best shape considering his health issues but it's Michael Jackson. I've been trying to see this guy in concert since I was a baby and I still missed it. I heard he was coming to do a final tour in the US tho so I still might have a chance.

The only thing positive that I'm going to say is that he still may be able to sell out arenas, but only over seas..He can barely still move..He went from doing a 360 degree spin 10 times without stopping - to a half of spin...LMAO!!! And a slow one at that..

But I feel that Mike seriously fucked up his legacy after the 2 molestation cases & not to mention all of the financial woes...But those cases seriously fucked up his legacy.. Americans really don't even respect this dude anymore....

But I remember Doochie standing up and I can't remember exactly what the situation was but I think she either had to go to the front door or had to adjust the window shade or whatever the fuck she was doing. All I remember is that I caught a glimse of her ass in those tight jeans...I'm a professional so I don't have to look at an ass long to get a full perspective of what it looks like. I can look at an ass like I'm snapping a picture. I can look at it for a split second....maybe a little bit slower than the flash of a camera and then I can turn away and have a full shot of what the ass looked like in my mind...And since this girl is petite and small tittied, her ass REALLY sticks out when she has some tight jeans on....
Luscious was sitting next to me so I just took a snapshot of Doochie's ass in my mind and looked away and then I started to process the information in my mind and I said to myself, "Gotdamn that little chick got some ass on her!" I didn't think anything else about her as I see asses everywhere all the time..
The second time I saw her, she was having a get together at her house. She was in the kitchen frying some chicken and Luscious brought me over there to hang out one night. There were a bunch of niggas over there drinking and smoking and they had a lot of girls from the neighborhood over there. The girls spent most of their time in the kitchen or the back bedroom laughing loud as shit every 30 seconds and the niggas was out in the living room looking stupid watching her brother play X-Box..So basically, it was really a get-together for Doochie's female friends and family and us niggas were just dragged along and dumped in the living room while all of the food, liquor, and smoke was being consumed by the girls....But it was still cool and I'm glad I went...Luscious ended up getting sick so we had to leave. And I didn't even get one piece of fried chicken that Doochie cooked! What kind of shit is that?
So later on, Luscious told me about how her sister would get naked on film and I turned her down because I thought that it was kind of weird for me to be palming her sisters ass on camera..But Luscious didn't have a problem with it...I thought that it was a setup or something since I didn't know her really well at the time so I just said that I wouldn't do it. But then, another girl who has been on this site a few times gave me a call and said that she had a girl for me and put her on the phone. What a fucking coincidence! It was Doochie....And since I was being referred to her from another girl instead of her sister, Luscious, I just said "fuck it" and set up a date to take this girls pictures.
These pictures were taken at her house and this is the bedroom where all of the girls were having the fun while we sat out in the living room like assholes. I'm telling y'all that even though I was happy to see this girls ass naked and I was able to get some good squeezes, it was HOT AS HELL in that apartment and I was dripping sweat while I was taking these pictures...It was so hot up in that bitch that after we finished the pictures and I paid her, I ended up taking her to Family Dollar so that she could buy a fan...All you gotta do is stick the back of that fan in a window and turn it on and let it suck some air in from outside. It's better than nothing. So now when you go into her apartment and see that fan, it can remind you of me because I like to give back to the black community! I'm not lying either. I've actually created "jobs" in the black community. How many of y'all niggas out there can say that? Over the years, I've spent THOUSANDS of dollars on these girls. How many electric and phone bills have I paid? How many sacks of weed have been bought from the local African-American weed sellers because of money that I have paid to these girls? How many sacks of crack cocaine have been bought from the local Negro dope sellers from girls that I have paid to get naked? And don't tell me I'm bullshitting because I've dropped girls off on the corner after I'm done with them and have seen them RUN to the dope man who happened to be standing around nearby....I really feel good about all of the good that I've done for the neighborhood...**seriously** .......Just like how George Bush's Anti-Kerry commercials are saying right now with their new slogan, "Pessimism never created a job"....You're Gotdamn right!

Clo Fresh -- the album may be more than ten years old but the ARTICLE IS FROM LAST SUMMER. It's a great article and not everyone has seen it, which is why I posted it.
