Soul Rebel got an invite to the studio Saturday night from Novel and Spree Wilson and I thought I'd share the results of the session. Check it out!

Novel was in the studio doing a flip of Kid Cudi and Kanye West's "Sky Might Fall" record -- Cudi hasn't released the final version yet, but Novel's soul version puts Cudi's vocals to shame, in my opinion anyway.

Soul Rebel is in the video at the :29 second mark saying "this is how it's sposed to be done" if you can't read my lips!

Here's Novel's full version, for your listening enjoyment:

Spree Wilson has also been sending me a ton of new music which I really dig -- he's an incredibly talented young man and I'm happy to share with those of you unfamiliar with his work. I wanted to post the reference version of his song "Pick You Apart" with Shoden1 (who also makes a cameo in Novel's "Sky Might Fall" vid) but the sound quality wasn't coming out as crisp as I'd like in divshare so I'm posting this video of him performing "Where Do We Go From Here" instead:

What do you guys think? Are you feeling Novel's soul version of "Sky Might Fall"? Do you like Spree's song? I wanna hear your thoughts!

Are you serious with this Novel guy? His version is straight basic. Plus he's singing another artist's song; that sh*t should have been pure heat just because it wasn't his original idea. I wasn't impressed.

I think kid Cudi waste this beat as well with subpar vocals and lyrics, but this guy;s version is not that appealing either. His voice is too high pitched. I think this would of been a great bone, thugs and harmony song to be honest.

This song sucks. Novel sucks too. Im guessing this guy only got a story because he let you come to the studio and look groupie? Sohh.com you gotta do better than this crap.

The song's ok, doesn't change my life.
Jadestar21: You seem upset by this story? What's your deal? Just get dumped by your 52 year-old NAMBLA member boyfriend (who you've grown to comfortably call 'Uncle Daddy') because you finally turned 18? Cheer up, there's plenty of older male fish in the sea who'd love to have a nice young man, such as yourself, on their lap.
