In two weeks, my homie and one of my favorite artists, Novel will be headlining BMI's unsigned urban showcase, alongside Trey Songz and Nas. Ladies, you don't want to miss this one. Whew.
U.S. performing right organization BMI will present its 12th Annual Unsigned Urban Showcase Thursday, April 23, featuring a combination of the recording industry's eminent stars and most-promising unsigned talent. Staged at E.S.S.O Nightclub (1599 Memorial Drive, Atlanta, GA), the event begins at 9 p.m.; doors open at 8 p.m. The festivities are open to the public; attendees must be 21-years-old with valid identification. For $25 limited advance tickets and table reservations, please call (404) 378-1095.
DJ Khaled will host the event.
Showcase finalists were chosen by a group of top BMI songwriters, producers and industry executives from over 300 submissions. The contenders include songwriting siren Ryn Nicole (San Diego); genre-smashing showman Kameron Corvet (Atlanta); Source Magazine "hyped" MC Rain (NYC); and r&b wranglers 718 (NYC).
The night provides a unique opportunity for BMI affiliates to showcase before a room of industry professionals. The final four will perform for a panel of judges including Dallas Austin; Capitol Records SVP, Urban Music Leonard Brooks; MySpace Records President, Urban Music Marquis Collins; manager Manny Halley (clients include Keyshia Cole & Lyfe Jennings); Def Jam EVP Chris Hicks; Polo Grounds Music President and RCA Music Group SVP, Urban Bryan Leach; manager and Czar Entertainment CEO Jimmy Rosemond (clients include The Game, Gucci Mane & Pleasure P).

And speaking of Trey Songz, I have some pictures from his recent "I Need A Girl" video shoot. Check them out below:
The video was shot in Malibu, CA last weekend by director Benny Boom. And it looks like this one should make both the guys and the girls happy. What do you guys think of the shots?
