Fantasia Gets Real For Vh1 - Will You Be Watching? Plus Solange Enlists Beyonce For A Duet

Move over Ray J! Powerhouse vocalist Fantasia is the latest r&b star to land a Vh1 reality series. And she won't be looking for love or money, so I'm curious to see what will keep folks tuning in.
According to People.com, the show will chronicle Barrino's career and her life as a single mom.
"Fantasia's life has been an open book, but at 24 years old, her story has just begun," executive producer Randy Barbato told the Hollywood Reporter.
He's not lying about her life being an open book, Fantasia has already written a bestselling autobiography called "Life is Not a Fairytale," and played herself in the Lifetime movie based on the book. So for the true Fantasia fans, who have probably already seen the movie and read the book, why tune in???
"Fantasia has one of the most fascinating stories in show business, from her tough upbringing to her meteoric rise on the national scene thanks to American Idol,'" Jeff Olde, executive VP of original programming at VH1, said."Her challenges from fame and her unwillingness to fail have combined to create a larger-than-life talent who appeals to music lovers around the world."
According to Olde, Barrino's show was coveted among industry insiders. I gotta wonder which other networks were vying for the show? BET? MTV? It doesn't really seem like Bravo's kinda thing.
Oh and listen to how exec producer Barbato is selling the show: "We look forward to smashing expectations and revealing the fresh, funny and unexpected side of this one-of-a-kind country girl and superstar."
I love Fantasia and am happy this isn't another "For The Love Of..." show, but I'm curious to see how she lives up to the "fresh, funny and unexpected" tag. Are you gonna watch? What singers would you love to see on reality TV if Fanny's not your kind of girl?
Since we're talking about divas, it's probably noteworthy enough to mention that Solange has finally admitted that it's time to get a little boost from her megastar big sis. Or at least that's how I'm looking at it anyway.
MTV News recently spoke to Solo about her next steps as an artist, and she didn't rule out the possibility of singing with Bey.:
"I definitely think that they'll be a time and a place for me and my sister to collaborate," Solange told MTV News. "It's just all about the time and the place and letting it evolve naturally -- and whenever that day happens well embrace it well come up with something good."
Hmmm... That sounds kinda like Bey is still holding out on her. Fortunately the two do share their love of music, and Solo likes pointing out new artists to her big sis.
"I play a lot of new music for her, 'cause obviously she works a lot," she said. "I get the chance to introduce new music to her and that's always fun. It's sort of our little bond through music -- exploring new artists."
Meanwhile Solange is talking about taking her next album in a more "moody, electronic" direction, saying she'd love working with Chairlift, Boards of Canada and Midnight Juggernauts.
Um, so it sounds like Solange won't be a Soulful artist much longer. But I think she made it pretty clear from her outfits to her videos that she wanted to be on that "weirdo" tip, not that anything is wrong with weirdos! You guys already know that Rebel has some weird taste sometimes. Do you think Solange can compete with the M.I.A.'s, Santigold's and J. Davey's? Or will being a Knowles always pull her back to the mainstream/commercial side of things? Talk to me y'all!

Solange only starting dressing weird after she had her baby and once she got on her grind (can't really say career) she started doing all of the weird shit to stand out cause she quickly found out that being Bey's sis wan't going to cut it..
& Who ever labeled Solange as a "Diva"?? She is not a idol, or a positive role model to even look up too. Check the baby momma's track record please...

Oh God please no!!!! LOL I am a fan of Fantasia. I really love her voice, her energy and her music but WHYYYYYY LORD WHYYY do we have to have ANOTHER reality show?????? Oh this stuff is killing me. It's so overwhelming and redundant. I mean like Rebel said, if she's not finding someone to love her or trying to get a job or playing some game to win money, what could you possibly be doing? Of course to really know I'd have to watch the show but it's like damn, if we keep watching these shows, they will NEVER DIE!!! LOL
I wish Fantasia would of picked another channel beside VH1 to do her reality show. Will I watch, maybe the first episode. I don't know if it is necessary for her to do it but she isn't doing much on the music side anyway. This show can either help her character or make her look like a fool.
