Congratulations to new Mommy (and amazing singer) Jill Scott! Jilly from Philly and her fiance Lil John Roberts welcomed their baby boy into the world this Monday 4/20 at 4:20 pm.
According to E! News reports the baby is named Jett Hamilton Roberts. He weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces.
Jett was a bit of a miracle baby for Jill, who had trouble getting pregnant during her marriage to first husband Lyzell Williams. Scott spoke about those issues during her pregnancy.
"I definitely had issues over the course of my life, reproduction issues," she told People. "Until now...it's the most amazing thing that's ever happened to me."
Those are gonna be some amazing lullabies heard by that lucky child!
And it looks like Jill's not the only R&B singer who is set to sing lullabies. Essence.com has confirmed a pregnancy for Chicago native Jennifer Hudson as well.
Internet rumors have been circulating that Jennifer Hudson is pregnant. While her manager and publicist deny the rumors, two sources close to the Oscar and Grammy winner confirm exclusively to ESSENCE.com that she is indeed expecting. This would be the first child for Hudson.
Hudson, who is currently receiving rave reviews while on tour with Robin Thicke, is engaged to David Otunga, a Harvard Law graduate and former contestant on "I Love New York 2." The couple plans to marry sometime soon, but hasn't confirmed a wedding date.
Big congratulations to Jennifer and David. Hudson is currently on tour with Robin Thicke until May 8th.

Jennifer Hudson representatives denied that report that she was pregnant. I saw it on "Access Hollywood" today. So we will see. Also that's good for Jill Scott but like someone said this having babies and not being married is kind of getting out of hand. However I think I did hear that Jill Scott was planing on walking down the aisle soon.

You can be married and have a child and still be alone. Just because a person gets married doesn't mean a thing. If a woman has a child she has to know that she is having that child for herself and not a man. A man can pick up and leave when ever he chooses. A REAL woman can't and wouldn't do that. Who cares that Jill and Jennifer are not married. Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell are not married and have been together for yearssssssssssssss!!! It is all about the love between the two parents. Marriage is just a word. People stay married for the wrong reasons sometimes and that can do more harm to the child than good. Would you rather be married and getting that ass beat with the child or be single, struggle a little and have piece of mind????????????????????

A child needs a mother AND a father in its life. For a mother to just go and have a bastard child without a father is completely selfish and immoral. You're not supposed to only have a child for yourself. That's why kids today ain't growing up right. Women are becoming mothers for selfish reasons, mistakenly thinking that they can play the role of both the mother AND the father, and trying to exclude the child's biological father form the kid's life. I could give two shits what Kurt Russell or Goldie Hawn do and I don't even know how they came into this conversation. Now, if the mother and biological father are both present and handling their job then it's understandable if they're not married; the father clearly had a desire to raise his child(ren). I have friends like that. Make no mistake though: what they've done is still wrong and the children are still bastards. But if the father is not around for whatever reason, then the mother should be completely ashamed of herself. Way too many times absentee fathers are blamed and labeled as bad guys, but the mother is completely exonerated for being the idiot that chose the man in the first place. Any man can get a girl pregnant but it is strictly the woman's decision whether or not her pregnancy actually goes to term. There is no justifying reproduction with a man who was clearly not ready or had no desire to have children, @ least not with that particular woman. Forcing a man to become a father against his will is just plain wrong, no matter what the circumstance. If your husband is abusive then you should've been smart enough to read the signs beforehand (there are always signs) and not have kids with an abusive man, let alone get married to him. Reproducing with an abusive husband just shows that you didn't exercise better judgment in the beginning to prevent such a situation or to get married and reproduce with a better man.

Even if the parents are together and unmarried, there is still no proper structure, which makes it very possible for things to go very wrong.

That is just hexa wrong for y'all to be getting at Jennifer like dat. She is a mighty woman of God, which is a lot more than I can say for the heartless person that posted that comment about Jen. You really need to get a life and lay off of the stars lives. Give her a chance to let American know whether or not she is expecting a blessing for JC. I am 14 and know better than to get at someone like that. I am most deff. not saying that I am perfect, exactly the oppisite. All I am saying is lay off of my girl Jen. She is no better or worse than you. I know that you need some help at some point. And I think that Jen is very lucky to be being blessed so shortly after the death of her family. They were all she had besides her career, and I know that her singing wont ever fully fill the void that was left. But a baby would sure help. She is lucky and blessed, and she deserves it. If Jennifer is engaged to be married to the man that she wants to be married to and they love each other enough to proclaim it then why would she ever have to worry about being alone.
