For The Record: Keri Hilson Clears The Air, Plus M.I.A. Didn't Name Her Baby Ickitt

Those of you who said Keri Hilson would "Never Ever" go at Beyonce or Rihanna were right on the money, according to my very reliable sources.
Rebel* sources reached out to Keri on my behalf asking what was up with her releasing the "Turnin' Me On remix" because it seemed so out of character for her. Well it turns out that Keri wasn't intentionally going at 'Bey, Ci or Rih' and the contentious verse was not even written by Hilson. A few different versions of the remix were recorded and, until it was released, Keri was under the impression that that take of the verse wasn't going to be used. Here's an email excerpt from Keri in response to SOHH Soulful's inquiry:
Nah I don't mind thanks for asking! Long as u tell her what I said cz that's the truth. I only wrote a cpl lines & those were the ones about men that they kept :) I stayed on subject with my verse.
There you have it folks. Miss Keri Baby is no drama queen!
Meanwhile, I already love the tone M.I.A. is taking to protect her little one. Superstar artist and mama took to her MySpace blog Friday in defense of her child after news circulated that she'd named her son Ickett.

even if Keri went on Beyonce. I wouldn't mind. I think other rnb aritsts deserve winning awards too. She's right. Beyonce is a greedy media who*re. I bet bey is already booked as the opener for the BET awards this year. Why don't give some other artists the opportunity to shine? and i don't think she's the best live performer because she copies other artists on stage. even jay-z. she does now the same shouts on stage like jigga does it. boo!

The little bit of respect that I gained for you in that quick 24 hour time frame when they were playing your supposed diss on the radio 50 million times, is gone....If you would of said yeah, I'm going at Bey and what, I guarentee that would of sat you atop RiRi & CiCi & you would of had all the people that can't stand Bey checking for you,at least for the remainder of the year..
i love how beyonce has so many people so obsessed with her. even the ones who 'claim' not to like her be the first ones commenting on her on every post.
beyonce is the richest, most popular, and most succesful black female artist of this generation period and everybody knows that including keri which is why she said "them other chicks not even worth mentioning". all she did was prove why Bey is that #1 chick.
She got chicks and even some gay dudes smh hating on her because she kills their favorite artist on a regular basis. I know she loves all the attention she gets without even having to do anything.

Okay I like some of Bey's songs, but I swear many of the Beyonce fans are soo ridiculously fanatical and obsessed over her. They swear that she is the best at any and everything and are willing to follow her off the edge of a cliff. Beyonce is talented, but so are many other artists, including Keri Hilson. Her fans act like no one can say anything negative about her and call it "hating".
It is so annoying how Beyonce fans come in on every blog, including blogs about other female R&B artists, and talk about how much better she is than everybody else. I believe in constructive criticism and the truth is, there is some material of Bey's that she shoulda just left on the shelf...her last album included. It is what it is, everything she touches isn't gold people.
I don't hate Beyonce but I hate how some people are obsessed with her. It's like she is god to them and smh comment has me shaking my head. I also hate how people assume that someone is going at someone when they didn't even reach out to the person first to ask them. hmmmm
@ 702 4 SHO3 and NNL, don't even sweat it. That person is probably a Sony Music label exec trying to hype his/her artist up and make her seem popular. Pay no attention. They'll have to realize that the public is finally tired of Beyonce and stop hyping her up so much.
I agree with Clo-fresh that Keri Hilson made a punk out of herself for retracting her statement. I respected her more for dissing Beyonce, but she just basically caved into B's will and killled the whole entire point of the song. That's just like when GOP chairman Michael Steele had to apologize to Rush Limbaugh, but I digress.
