D'Angelo

Talk about grown and sexy! One of my all-time favorite artists, D'Angelo turns 35 today and I couldn't resist putting together a little video tribute for him.

From the beginning of his career, D'Angelo established his ability to translate classics

He also always set himself apart with his talent as a musician

But let's face it, "How Does It Feel" gave us an image that can't ever be erased...

It's impossible for me to pick a favorite song from his catalog, but "The Line" is definitely one of the songs that made me like Voodoo slightly more than Brown Sugar.

The man is also amazing live, which we were all reminded of with the "Send It On" video

What are some of your favorite D'Angelo joints? His upcoming album James River is rumored to be ready by Fall '09 via J Records. Can you imagine if he and Lauryn Hill recorded together again? Who would you love to see him work with?

Have a great born day D!

Yo, I use to argue with mad people that Voodoo was better than Brown Sugar. That is one cd that gets played through, no skipping. I'm glad somebody else feels the same way. "The Line" and "Send it On" really makes that cd.

This is a coincidence, I was playing D'Angelo all day yesterday, didn't even know his birthday is coming up...my favorite songs are "I Found My Smile Again" and "Cruisin"...I would love to have him put in work with me, other than that, I'm looking forward to hearing him and Prince together...

I'm excited about his new project. I'm definitely going to cop it when it comes out. There are only 2 artists I don't mind, and always come back to during their 10 year album stretches...Sade and D'angelo.

35?? the nigga is at least 47...
