Chrisette Michele's Latest 'Epiphany,' Plus Ne-Yo Weighs In On Chris Brown/Rihanna

Def Jam soul singer Chrisette Michele is back one mo' 'gin with her sophomore album Epiphany due out March 31. The newly single chanteuse is already back on the charts with a new single and is singing the praises of her labelmate Ne-Yo.
Michele took home her first Grammy this year, capturing the Best Urban/Alternative Performance for "Be OK" off her debut album I Am. Now she's busy promoting her next project which she titled Epiphany after her first single, which just so happens to have been penned by Ne-Yo.
In a recent interview with Billboard.com Chrisette discusses how hearing the song made gave her a new revelation.
"I heard the song that Ne-Yo had written titled 'Epiphany,' and the word just stood out to me," Michele tells Billboard.com. "It stood out to me because I'd been through a lot in my last relationship, and the word 'epiphany' exemplified exactly what happened in the end when I realized I didn't have to put myself through it anymore."
It turns out that ish got really real with Michele and her former manager, Douglas "Biggs" Ellison, with Michele even going so far as to sue Ellison for embezzlement and harassment last year. Ellison countersued for breach of exclusive management agreement and the lawsuit is currently in motion. Talk about DRAMA! Still Chrisette is standing strong on her own.
Epiphany has no guest collaborations although Ne-Yo also co-executive produced the project. And it looks like we can expect a video soon for "Epiphany" because Chrisette posted a YouTube video this Sunday showing her arrival on set for the vid shoot.
Best of luck to Chrisette Michele! What do you guys think about her? Are you excited about the new album? I tell you, those girls at Def Jam are lucky to have Ne-Yo and The-Dream to count on for amazing songs -- not that Chrisette isn't capable of writing her own stuff -- Rihanna, not so much tho.
Since we're on the subject of Ne-Yo and Rihanna anyway, I might as well mention how homeboy spoke on the whole Chrihanna Drama to MTV News.
"I spoke to Rihanna. She says she's fine. She didn't go into detail about what happened," Ne-Yo told MTV early this week. "That just really... that hurt me to my heart, man."
Ne-Yo tried to remain neutral about the situation with Chris Brown saying, "I'm not going to crucify him. I haven't had a chance to talk to Chris yet. I just wanna sit down and talk to that dude and just explain if he doesn't understand: 'That's not something that's excusable, bruh. You have to get a little smarter about whatever it is going on in your relationship. You have to get a little smarter about how you handle certain situations."
I'm not sure how I feel about him commenting without knowing the full details. Sometimes I don't understand why artists comment on other artists personal lives knowing full well they wouldn't want folks talking about theirs. Ne-Yo is one of the main folks who outed Chrihanna in the first place. Remember these comments from last year?
"They tear hair out of each other and argue. I've seen them kiss and make up like other couples do."
Yeah. I definitely remember that one. The "tear hair" comment really doesn't sit well in light of the current situation. I take my earlier comment back about Ne-Yo not knowing the full details.

Ne-Yo sounds a whole lot like somebody who knows more than he's saying. Wonder if LAPD might just have a potential witness to the couple's history. SMH.
